It's silly, but I would love an issue of Rowan Magazine from DH, as a a "hey, you got my bun in your oven" gift, you know? I know I could *ask*, but seriously, 12 years. Couldn't he just read my freaking mind?
*sigh* I'll never get an issue of Rowan. I just know it. I'll die Rowan Issueless. *sob*

lmao.

I got a bouquet of flowers from dh as a 'you got my bun in your oven' with our first two kiddos. So far nothing for this pg.

Know what I want?
I would really love to be able to take a class on knitting. All I can do is garter and stockinette. lol

Here's to hoping you get your mag!!!

Is it the pennies, or just the act of getting your hands on it? LMK if I can help- you're the first non-Brit I've ever heard use the phrase "bun in the oven", you deserve British knitting mags.

Oh, you're so sweet! I you. It's pennies. I just can't justify that frivalous cost as mother of 3.5 kids. But as a GIFT, a BUN IN YOUR OVEN GIFT, from DH, well, I could accept methinks.

I have a River too, BTW.

I tend to say British things. No idea why. I'm an 8th Welsh, but that doesn't really excuse it. I use British blasphemies, often leave off "the", oh and I say Herb instead of erb, stuff like that. Who knows why. Maybe I was born in the wrong place?

I am such an @ss! Guess what? He got me a Rowan SUBSCRIPTION a couple weeks ago as a Valentines gift! So he just told me tonight, because f course I won't have it tomorrow, so I showed him this thread. Now he's worried that all you girls will think he's lame about my hobby. Ladies I ASSURE you he is very awesome about my habit. Even drives eight hours through the night every year to take me to two days worth of wool market, where he handles ALL of the children while I wander about obligation-free and lusty with the scent of lanolin (as we all know it is a pheramone for us!) (damn I don't know how to spell pheramone). So my DH is the best. I freely admit it! lol

Congrats on the subscription.

I've been married a year. I figured out pretty early on, if my husband ever learns to read my mind, we'll BOTH be in big trouble.

So, we have a gift list. It's an actual list. I write down things that I like with the name of it, model number, where he can buy it, and the full retail value, and sometimes a coupon (or a website where he can get a coupon).

For any gift-giving occassion, he consults the list, picks something, buys it, and then....gives it to me two weeks early. Unwrapped.

I'm off to add "Subscription to Rowan" to the list.

The last time he wrapped something, he did it on the guest room bed. The guest room bed, when not holding guests, holds misc. things that are being unpacked, going into or out of basement storage, etc. Apparently bath scrunchies take the entire surface of a queen bed, (and I do NOT know why he was wrapping bath scrunchies to begin with) and my amber glass bowl got knocked onto the floor. The amber glass bowl that matches the amber lamp that goes in the living room and keeps the decor from looking like "I found this lamp and really like it, and put it in my living room even though it really doesn't match anything else in the room..."

So, no more wrapping.

Yea! I have a similarly thoughtful one....My DH got me a glider and an OTT light and made me my own special knitting space in the living room.
