Aching due to laying down.

For the past couple days, I have developed a lovely problem...
Let's say I sleep on my right side for a couple hours... when I wake up, the whole right side of my body aches. It feels like it's muscular & in my bones too. So then I try to sleep on my other side ... same problem with that side. I even slept in a recliner... same problem but with my whole backside. It's just not fair!!!!!!!!!

What is the DEAL???? Ugh!!! This never happened with other pg's. And I'm not overweight or anything. I'll probably have about 10 extra pounds (on top of regular 25-30 baby stuff pounds) to lose to get back to my regular size afterwards.

I even tried laying on my stomach with a bunch of pillows... hee hee... didn't have enough pillows. I'd probably have to go buy about 20 more at walmart to get that idea to work. haha. now i am wishing i wouldve bought that inflatable bed i saw last pg but never bought. It was about $100 and inflated and had a hole in the middle so you could lay on your tummy!!!!!! Doesn't that sound awesome!!

<sigh> Oh well, i'm almost done. about a week more to go. <sigh, again>
thanks for listening. :

I'm sorry mama! I get achy too sometimes when I wake in the morning, but a trip to the chiro usually helps with that.

I do want to remind you, though, not to sleep in the recliner. You could end up with a posterior baby and that would probably cause a painful back labor. It's been on my mind lately since my babe is currently posterior and I'm dreading the back labor if he doesn't swing around to an anterior position.

Your bed might not be soft enough for all the pressure points on it while you sleep. You could try sleeping on pillows or buying a cheap egg crate cushion for your side of the bed for a little more give.

I am having similar problems -- I lie down on one side and my hips and back ache -- roll over and it hurts the other side. There's no winning (and this is no matter WHERE I sleep!!). A chiro visit helped somewhat, and my husband will rub my hips/sacrum with aspercreme if it gets really bad. Oh, also soaking in the birth tub has been great even though it is a PAIN to set it up!

I'm right there with you on the painful sleep. I keep a pillow between my knees and just roll over on the side that is less sore, and I do this all night long. Not much else I can do I guess. It's been like this for me for months though. Sometimes it seems like I can sleep for 5 or 6 hours on one side, but that is really rare. I literally wake every 2-3 hours on average to roll myself over, moaning and wimpering the whole way. At night my hands are so swollen that putting any pressure on them feels like the skin will split open. I just keep looking forward to being able to sleep on my back after baby comes. I can't wait.

I am right there with you. It has been happening for weeks. Now I just don't sleep at all so I can't really get achey. lol

Oh man I thought I was alone! I make a pillow nest every night and just moan and growl each time I have to move. I think they should make anti-gravity sleep chambers for the last month of pregnancy.

have you thought about seeing a chiro to get adjusted? that has helped me tons with sleeping!

also, those body pillows are good for me to lean on but if i wrap my legs around it, my hips hurt.

Try sleeping in the recovery position, but with pillows propping up your top arm and top leg. If sleeping with bump supported doesn't do anything, it's the only other suggestion I can think of.

the thought crossed my mind... but nah... it has only started as of this thread's beginning (a couple days ago) and i only have a week more to go 'til my induction date. i think i can tough it out! if nothing else, it'll help me get up earlier in the morning to get movin'! haha.

i do plan on seeing a chiro though some day in the future. i have this spot that i know can be fixed. (unrelated to this situation).

recovery position? what is that?? haha

i've slept with a pillow between my knees for several months now... & the bed and the way i lie seems to support my tummy okay. i think it is just all the pressure or maybe baby is squashing some sort of spinal something-or-other. who knows.

so now tell me more about this "recovery position" !!

I tried this yesterday (after your suggestion) and i'm not sure it helped. i think delivery may be the only thing that helps. we'll see!

Add me to the list of rolling over moaners...and I am starting to friggin' hate pillows. Getting up to go pee in the middle of the night is a major adventure with these darn prop pillows. I am sure I wap my poor cat 3 times a night.

Can't wait for tummy sleeping again!!
