Help me with a lamp shade!

We weren't ready to go completely tv free, yet, so we made a family room so our living room would be tv free (and frankly, cleaner )..

Our family room we are designing with a Hollywood/stars theme.. blue click clack couch in velvet and a beautiful blue/greens mosaic stained glass lamp that needs a LARGE size shade..


but nothing in the store have I seen does the lamp justice..

so, what projects can I do, ideas, etc to "dress up" a regular large lamp shade to make it fit the theme? I would LOVE a glass shade, but the lamp comes with a regular metal harp, so I don't think it would support a glass or other heavy type material shade..

I'm not great with time periods but I would say to look online for something you like and then go to the craft store (JoAnns if you have one) and get some fabric, spray adhesive and fancy trims. I know that you can buy dangly bead trims that look like glass. I'm actually planning to do that for my girls.

Maybe if we could see the lamp or part of the room?

Would gold stars painted on it look nice?Or something funny like decoupaged pictures of old movie stars?Hmmmm???What about fabric?
