Still not looking pregnant....

I'm getting a little bit frustrated with this. I'm 18 weeks pregnant today, and you can't tell at all by looking at me. Maybe that's because I'm overweight.
Most of the time, I can't even tell that I'm pregnant! I'm feeling fine most of the time (the exception being when I haven't eaten).
I *think* I've felt the baby move, but it's very sporadic. My regular clothes still fit fine, although they are getting a little tight. Just a little, though.
I just don't really feel pregnant.
My dear husband claims that he can tell that I'm pregnant from across the room, lol. I'm not sure if he's just trying to make me feel better.
I want to get to this "I'm totally pregnant" stage, finally.

same here, although I think my stomach is finally starting to pop a bit. Still in my regular clothes.

I don't really look pregnant, in fact, people keep asking if I've lost weight! I am wearing maternity pants with the full panel to smooth out my double belly...and I find myself pushing my belly out more (to the detriment of my back) to look more pregnant.

I am with you, I wish I looked more pregnant!

Me too, go look at my belly pics and you'll realize I just look like I've gained weight : Plus everyone keeps asking when I'm going to show b/c this is my 3rd...

I lost weight (I was pretty slim before) and I'm definitely in maternity clothes but everyone keeps saying, 'you don't look pregnant'. I think they're trying to say I'm small? But I tried on my bikini for vacation week after next (it still fits) and my husband said I looked... 'oddly fat'. So now I'm totally not looking forward to spending a week on the beach.

I never lost weight, but I haven't gained any, and I'm 18 weeks. I;m not a big girl either, so you think I would show earlier than some. Strangers have no idea.

Oh my gosh, your husband's "oddly fat" comment made me laugh! I'm guessing he's not the sensitive type?
I would say that if your bikini still fits, and you are a slim person, you won't need to worry about spending a week on the beach! Just enjoy it!

I switched to maternity clothes just last week. Because regualr clothes are uncomfortable. BUt they still fit.
i'm 17w2d.
My maternity pants are falling off me nad i bought the X-Small (and I may be a smaller person, and sure I've lost weight this pregnancy, but I am NOT a tiny person. My hips have never seen the under side of 38" at the skinniest)

It;s totally depressing.
My Dh said I look "bloated". So we bought the babydoll style/empire waist maternity shirts to emphasize that I really am pregnant and not just some fraky pear hsaped person with a limp (sciatica).

erg. i feel your pain.

the little and never often baby movement doesnt; make me feel great either.

I have a little belly, but that's only because of the fat being pushed up and out by my expanding uterus. I broke out the maternity pants this week just because I couldn't wait, my regular pants still fit.

Same here. I am 18 weeks today and have gained about 10 pounds. You can see my latest belly picture in my siggy. I have a belly but when I am dressed I don't really look pregnant. People that I haven't told still can't tell. I normally have a flat belly so to me I feel like it is so obvious but I think to others I just look chubbier. Maternity pants won't stay up but I can't get my normal pants buttoned. I am still wearing mostly normal pants and just not buttoning them. This is my first pregnancy so I am really eager to look pregnant and it just isn't happening.

That's pretty much my story! I'm showing enough that I can tell, and the boy can tell - if I'm naked. But so long as I'm clothed, there's no noticable change.

I went to the doctor today, though, and when I laay down for the doppler she laughed and said "Well, you certainly can tell now!" So maybe I just need to lie down around more people.

Same here, pretty much. 16w2d. My stomach was pretty flat before, and if anything now I might just look a little bloated, same as if I'd had a big lunch before being pg--I'm still in my normal pants, although they do feel a bit tight some days. I lost about 4-5 lbs right around the time I got pregnant (no idea why???), and I've almostgained them all back. The only way I can really tell I'm pg is if I lay on my back and look at my bare stomach--it used to be concave in that position, but now my uterus protrudes some. Also, my breasts have really filled out! They were pretty tiny before, though, so it's nothing that people at work would probably notice. I'm wondering when I'm going to start showing. I've only told one person at work--just yesterday!

glad to hear so many other mommas in the same situation. I'm a bit fluffy and I see my little belly, but it just looks like more fluff in clothes -- well out of clothes too, I guess.

I've felt silly for wanting the pregnant look and glad it isn't silly. Gonna meet up with a good friend who's due the same time soon and I'm so scared she'll be all pregnant looking and I'll still just be plump looking.

I don't know if any of you ladies are tall but my NP "warned" me from the beginning that since I am a tall lady, I might show later then most people and not to let peoples comments get to me

I will be 20 weeks tomorrow but I really didn't "pop out" until 19 weeks. If you check out my belly pics in the July 2008 Belly Pics thread, you will see what I mean (my pics are torwards the end of the thread).

You Mamas are awesome at helping me feel better about not looking/feeling pregnant.
Thank you for sharing your own experiences/feelings.

I was like that with my first pregnancy. I was a relatively small girl, 5'2" and not hugely overweight (that came after the kids). I worked with a girl who was 2 weeks ahead of me with her second. She was showing and I wasn't...at 6 months. I was so jealous. I started wearing maternity clothes (even though I still fit into my "skinny jeans") and pushing out my belly.

I look back now and laugh at myself. With #2 I popped at 10 weeks and by 6 months people were saying "oh, any day now?" This time I was in maternity pants by 8 weeks and at almost 20 weeks I feel like a blimp...even after losing 14 pounds.

I'm totally the opposite. I'm a chubby tall lady so perhaps I should just be looking a bit chubbier rather than pg, but I've really got a bump going on and feel like I'm already huge at 19 weeks. It worries me a little as my sis got enormous (seriously, like she was having triplets or something) with both of my nephews and I was hoping to not be the same. She had to go buy more maternity wear in bigger sizes at 6 months and the women in the store asked why she was buying new maternity stuff when she was about to give birth!

I popped big time at 16/17 weeks and have been getting bigger on a daily basis. I'm already noticing my bump in the way when I go up and down stairs, for example. As this is the first pg I've carried beyond 1st tri (and my first in 16 years, how's that for making me feel old?), I doubt it's anything to do with my having been pg before. I'm going to be the size of a frickin blue whale!!

So, as I'm only feeling movement off and on still, I completely understand about wanting to feel PREGNANT just for reassurance, but I'd like to be looking a little less pg at this stage, quite frankly!
