hemorrhoids - when will they be gone?

I gave birth a week ago and had a couple of hemorrhoids before the birth. I thought they would go away quickly now that there is no more baby weighing on my body. I've been taking homeopathics for them and I have a homeopathic cream I've been applying but they still are there and don't seem all that much smaller. How long will they be around for? Anything to make them go faster?

I got mine when I was 7 months pregnant with DS and I still have them.. he is 27 months old.. argh.

I never did any agressive or any treatment at all for them, but I might seek treatment for them after this next one.

I've had the same hemorrhoids for about.... 3 months now? They got really bad in the last week, ugh. Soaking a cotton ball in witch hazel and holding it down there for about 15 minutes twice a day has helped a lot. You might need to get more aggressive with your treatment if you want them gone. I think they can hang around indefinitely - they're not really bad for you, just painful, right? I know I'm sick of mine and I still have to give birth! :

Yikes - I didn't know they could be around forever! I guess I'll just keep hoping that they'll go of their own accord. Thank you for the sympathy though.

OMG, it is so great. My midwives gave me some for my perineum, but it is awesome on the hemmorhoids as well.

FWIW, I got some after DD's birth and they went away, so I'm hoping these will too.

well its been 2 weeks since the birth and either my stiches are still swollen or i still have a hem. I put the witch hazel pads on it after a bm. It doesn't hurt, tho... I just get uncomfortable sitting on hard chairs. Oh and I am still soaking in epsom salts every time I get a chance.

Thanks for the link and hope. I also had no idea that they can sometimes be forever. But I'm going to focus on what you said and get myself some of this stuff!

Mine went away a couple of weeks pp last time. I have one this time, too, which I'm hoping will disappear pp.

Mine went away after a few months postpartum but now they are really flaring---TMI but I just had a bloody stool---I think one of the capillaries burst...
