Pain, help me please!

I have such a wicked pain between my legs, I don't know what to do. Mostly hurts when I am moving, but sometimes just sitting in the wrong position or trying to scoot off the couch or bed makes me yell. I'm not sure if it's a result of baby's position (moving lower maybe?) or sledding with DD yesterday...it hurts really bad though. Like I ripped something. Ok not literally but it hurts. It goes from almost my groin more up into like my labia...is there even a muscle there to pull? It does not feel like a pulled groin. It feels more like the pain I've had before that I assume is a result of baby's head on nerves (that thighmaster workout/crazy sex weekend feeling lol) than an actual pulled muscle.

So basically what I need to know is...do I need an ice pack or a heating pad???

I had some horrific pains the other day in the groin area. I actually took a tylenol... and it helped..

tylenol here too.

I found ice helped more than heat though.

Lol, we share the exact same issue. Tylenol helps. Wish I could find a better miracle, other than getting her the heck out. =p

sciatica maybe?

I had a pain like that but my ds1 ripped that side of my vaginal wall all to heck. I assumed it was some sort of pressure point reawakening the pain in the scar.

Yup, I'm there with you. I have right side sciatic AND this strange twingy, pulling pain that runs from sort of my groin down the inside of my thigh on the same leg. I wasn't sure if that was the pain women describe from effacing or just some other lovely symptom, like the PSD. It's very unpredictable so I haven't taken anything for it but it does give me a shocker when it happens!

Luckily we are in the final stretch so I'm just trying to look at it as my body preparing me for birth. Keep your eye on the prize mama, your baby will be here soon!

Try lifting your whole bump- a pillow tucked between bump and lap when sitting, under the bump in bed, etc. It sounds like your symphsis pubis joint is stretching out to let your baby escape safely, warmly and gently- and yes, that's going to hurt. It's also worth sitting on a birth ball as much as possible, and you might find that if you push baby as low as you can- when standing up- that brings a bit of relief.

i recommend ice and chiropractic! those two things have helped me with groin and hip pain. hope that you feel better mama.

oh, and not sitting/lying in the same position for more than 30 minutes or so when you are awake. if i sit down to read a book after dd has gone to bed, i gotta get up to adjust myself regularly, for sure or i start to feel it.

Thanks everyone. I decided to take a Tylenol before bed, it must have helped some bc I wasn't in quite as much pain by the time I laid down. I never had this my other pregnancies!! But hey if it's things loosening up to make birth easier I can certainly live with that LOL! It actually bugs me no matter how much I change position...I was hardly sitting around yesterday and it was killing me. I really wanted to finish cleaning the house but I finally decided that despite having energy I just couldn't do it. I'm due for a chiro appt, I couldn't go Monday when my chiro was in bc I didn't have a sitter...but I will be making a point of going tomorrow. Especially since I'm 38 weeks today, woo-hoo!! I feel it's so important to stay properly aligned here at the very end. I think it's part of what made DD come out in 2 pushes in like 2 minutes vs pushing for an hour and a half with DS.
