A moment to pause and give thanks

It's so easy to focus on what we want, need, where we ache, how we are sore, feeling impatient...I know that's where I've been lately.

Today though, I'm in a different space and invite any of you mamas to join me. I think it's just because I'm feeling so fortunate today because I'm focusing on things that make me happy. Even though my PSD and sciatic are acting up and I've been up since 3:30 this morning, I feel serene in a funny kind of way. My little one is snuggly in my tummy and her leg and foot keep moving around in gentle ways to let me know she's still there and is happy where she's at for today.

My girlfriend (who is part of our birth team) is coming over to help me clean this house and get it ready for the babe. She is just the best ever - words can't begin to explain how special she is to DH and I. She told me on Monday that I should go on maternity leave for the rest of the week and she'd help me with the transition, including cleaning the house today. I took the day off and told my boss that my last day is Friday! I've finally taken the plunge and just having made the decision is such a relief.

I have a great DH who is just going to be the sweetest Daddy ever . I know the babe is healthy and coming soon...maybe not exactly when I want her to, but soon.

I'm also SO lucky to have this site! MDC and especially this DDC has been a lifesaver for me! You ladies ROCK!!!!

Gratitude is a powerful thing!

Awww...thanks for sharing!

I'm trying to see the comedy in my day and am definitely getting to a better place than I was first thing this morning when my ds came down the stairs thereby stalling my labor!

I'm very thankful to have dh home for the third day in a row, even if I haven't had the baby yet...and to get to go to a midwife appointment this afternoon with just him and our 2 year old ds, since my Dad is coming by to pick up our older 3. It's wonderful to know that sometime in the next few days I'll be holding this little one in my arms (I'm 41 weeks today!) and to take the time to remember to enjoy these last few moments of my last pregnancy.

beautiful post...its amazing how everything falls into place when we focus on gratitude, love, and acceptance. I think baby Grant would still be baking if I hadn't finally given up my worries and my idea of when he should come I wish you and your little one a blessed and joyous birth whenever that may be.
