I am seriously over htinking this, need your help

this is so simple it's stupid.

I lost track of counting rows. I'm supposed to knit 15 rows. does that mean I will have 7 RS, and 8 WS (or vice versa) or 15 RS rows?

I'm tired and brain dead and the more I think about it, the more confused I get. I ripped out to 7 RS rows and 8 WS rows because I think that's how it's supposed to be but I need a second opinion

Are you knitting in stockinette (if knitting flat, this will be one row knit, one row purl- if knitting in the round, its all knit) or garter (knitting flat, knit each row)? If you are knitting stockinette, after knitting 15 rows you will have your cast-on edge, 14 V's (the knit stitch), and the stitches on the needle making 15 knit rows. If you are knitting in garter, you will have the cast-on edge, 7 purl ridges (looking from either side) and one row on the needles- these would have been knit stitches when you finished the row if row 1 started with knit.

The best way I find to count rows is to make a row-counter with scrap yarn. I do it like shown on this site and always have row 1 as the loop without the knot tail. So I just need to be able to count in my head multiples of 10.

Yep: plus adding to what birdiefu said, if it's stocking stitch knitted flat then your yarn will be at the end of a RS row ready to begin a WS row, assuming this is from the CO edge and you started with a RS row.

Yeah I just ended up going to bed. I cracked a tooth yesterday so I have been a bit out of it and was not thinking straight. the more I thought about it, the less it made sense! kind of like spelling the word Tuesday, which never looks right to me for some reason.

Oh, I see, so you were on drugs?
