Coome- I am so glad that you started this thread! I am getting ready to start my first IVF cycle after 1.5 years of TTC. We have severe male factor infertility which is due to DH being a CF carrier. He will need surgery to extract the sperm. I am about 1 week from aunt flo starting. After she arrives I will start the BCP for 3 weeks, then lupron for 10 days and then stimming drugs for another 2 weeks. I am excited and afraid, but more excited than anything else. I had a high FSh (14) last month and only 9 antral follicles so that worries me alittle. DH & I are both 27 and we are TTC #1.

I am glad to have you all to talk to. It really helps ease the nerves to talk to others in the same situation. I look forward to getting to know everyone and hope that we all ahve a short stay in the IVF support group and mover very quickly to the ivf grads due date club

hey kristin!
yes, i hope this will be a good forum for us all to express our thoughts, feelings, concerns, etc as we start this totally new adventure. obviously we all have some of the same typical ttc/infertility feelings, but i think this group will have some unique things going on as we're all newbies to the ivf process. welcome!

thanks for the well wishes lberk!

yummyyarn~thanks for answering my questions... i should really try to just chill out until i at least go in for the ivf consult with my re on thursday! either way we'll be getting started soon.

if we don't start meds soon and i go on bcp in early march, i am SO indulging myself with a drink or two at our leap year party on friday night!

i hope we can all stay positive...hopefully this will be a good luck thread so that like kristin mentioned...we can all move to an ivf grads thread!

Coome how was your meeting with the RE last week?
I met with my Dr. yesterday and she referred me to an Re that does IVF. I have a meeting with the RE on 3/25. My current Dr. said that if IVF ends up being too expensive we can still try IUI, but I may have quicker results with IVF. She is optimistic that I will get pregnant.
We decided that since AF is due soon and the consult with the RE is not until the end of the month, we would try another IUI cycle with gonal-f and see what happens.

hi all!

i haven't been back here very much lately either...like kristin, i've been over at ivfconnections a bit more...and taking some time away from forums all together. i'm glad to see this thread is still rolling!

welcome marly

we decided to put things off a month. our meeting with the RE to consult about IVF went great. we filled the scrip for bcp and then on the day i was to start them i decided to wait a cycle. so they are waiting in my medicine cabinet patiently until time to be used. i expect AF sometime next week. i am excited and nervous to get all of this started. i had an hsg back in october, but my re wants to do an hss in the first part of the cycle to check for polyps or anything in my uterus. fun! this means i'll likely be going in for er and et in early-mid may if everything goes as is "typical"...but i don't really believe in that these days!

how is everyone else doing?

HI everyone
We met with the RE on Wednesday. He seemed optimistic, I had been told before that this doctor was very particular about the patients that he takes, so the fact that he took me on as a patient gives me hope. I have to have an MRI on Monday to determine the shape of my uterus. Last year when I had an HSG I was told I have a bicornuate uterus. At that time I was told that it was not bad and not to worry. The RE didn't have the same attitude and told me that depending on what the MRI shows I may have to have surgery. He said that this may be why I haven't been able to get pregnant or stay pregnant. I am nervous about the possibility of surgery. So after all this is done we will be able to start the IVF process.
