Help- quick fast-knitting small thankyou gift?

My midwife (she who is refusing to discharge my beautiful newborn son because he's still yellow likes handknits. And doesn't knit. I found this out yesterday when she was admiring his pea-pod cardigan, and I should really do her a pretty thankyou gift. (I'm a Brit, so we don't pay our midwives directly- maternity care comes free on the NHS. And she did go out of her way to keep me below the hospital radar during my pregnancy.)

Does anyone have any patterns for a single (100g) skein of sportweight? If not, I think I'm thinking of Branching Out: I can probably get that done by Wednesday. Or does anyone else have any bright ideas?

LOVE the squarecake bag!! I will be adding that to my "to do" list!

Looks like a fabulous gift for the midwife!

Thankyou

The bainbridge scarf is great, but not for her, I don't think...

The Panta headband works up VERY quick - like one evening. It can get wide so don't go up a size in needles. I went down to a size 6 (pattern written for US 7).

Fingerless mitts?
