is it normal for ultrasound technicians to remain tight-lipped? - Page 2

My aunt's dr. did their ultrasounds the whole pregnancy. He told them girl. Now they have a beautiful son Jacob. Not sure doctor's are the right answer, but for discussions of a diagnosis, they are a necessity

meowee, I've been thinking about you. Have you heard anything from your doc?

Nope, I called this morning and they said they hadn't gotten the report. I asked if they would call if they got it and something was wrong-- they said yes. So I'm going to hope that no news is good news!

Just got back from the OB-- he said the report is normal. I'm relieved but I have to admit somewhat bitter about the whole experience with the nuchal screening. I was pretty much told that I should electively terminate but everything turned out to be ok. I hope this doesn't happen to any other woman...!

I'm so glad everything looks fine after all!!

I don't blame you one bit for being bitter ... what a huge amount of stress do deal with.

It was after the initial nuchael screening that was 6mm that the geneticist and the dr doing the CVS, before the CVS, told me I should consider just aborting without further testing, but I insisted on the CVS, which came back normal, so there was the 11 day wait for the CVS results, but, they then said there could be a structural defect which would be ruled out by this sono.

Though I have had techs that are really talkative. The last U/S I had just this past Friday, the tech was super talkative. Of course it may have been because he's done a U/S for me before and felt OK talking to me. But then again, he was a little on the cocky side and acted like he was kinda superior, so maybe he felt it was OK to blab? IDK. I think in your case you could just write it off to what the PP said.

I'm baffled too, though they (geneticist, and the OB who did the CVS) were really certain something was wrong. I don't cry easily and didn't really cry at all during this whole ordeal (though I was totally miserable and anxious). Maybe since my emotions looked so flat they thought I wanted to terminate? I don't know .
