tub cleaner? - Page 2

Depends on what's in your water - but this works for me though it's not too natural." Dump a 12oz can of cola in the tub and let it "hang out: for 30 minutes. Sprinkle BS, then wipe away the crud with a washcloth.

Great thread. I really have a problem keeping our tub clean because I refuse to use harsh cleansers (they give me a booming headache), but I haven't had too much luck using baking soda, etc. I think I will try the baking soda and laundry detergent suggestion, I might as well try the baby oil too while I'm at it since I have some that I will never use for anything.

One thing that I saw on How Clean is Your House, is to sprinkle salt on a lemon or grapefruit and use that to scrub the soap scum off the sides of the tub. It's kind of like using bs and vinegar, it's acid and abrasive...it works pretty well but you end up going through a lot of lemons and I don't always have a lot in stock!

If it's soap scum you're trying to get off, I LOVE LOVE LOVE using a pack of lemon koolaid/flavoraid on the scrubby side of a damp sponge. Just scrub it on the surface, no major elbow grease needed, and let it sit for about 10 minutes. Rise off while you scrubby it.
