Daily thread 2/16

Um. So. It would seem, then, that hormones get a little crazy at the end, huh? Would that account for my excessive GRUMPINESS today/tonight? I'm trying not to let myself feel enraged at every little thing (The shelf doesn't fit correctly in the freezer! There are too many f#$#@ dirty dishes! I dropped the phone AGAIN! etc etc) but it's not really working. And my bathroom smells like paint, even though this is the lowest-VOC paint we could buy. And that's stressing me out/pissing me off. And my DH did a few things today/tonight which totally angered me, & I haven't let go of my anger yet and that doesn't feel nice - I barely even looked at him tonight. This is just hormones, right????

I prefer feeling all happy & optimistic. It's much more pleasant.

How're the rest of you mamas doing?

Man, I really have to make myself go to bed. I think half the reason I didn't is that I was feeling too grumpy to even go to bed at the same time as DH.

(sigh) OK, rant OVER!
Talk about babies coming, people! That's a nice thing. In fact, mine is moving around right now. Hi, Baby! I'm sorry that you're feeling Mama's grumpy vibes...it's certainly not got anything to do with YOU!

I'm grumpy too! I was typing something for my husband today and he asked me to add our zipcode. I got pissed off and told him to type it himself. My daughter's been grumpy today, I wonder if she is affected by the hormones also...
Totally hormones! The day before last I bawled for 45 minutes because my sewing machine jammed. Then I started yelling at dh

Hope everyone is feeling as good as possible and taking it easy. I'm going to go read a very boring book and try to get back to bed. I woke up about an hour ago after sleeping for 3 hours...ugh!

FYI re: my post yesterday about getting my membranes swept = labor. It should for *me* but not for everyone. Due to the condition of my cervix and the fact that it's my 4th babe the dr. believes that it will. If this were my first babe and my cervix wasn't already about 4cm dilated and soft/stretchy there's NO way I'd count on it. Just thought to clear up the confusion!

Hugs to all.

i thought i was going to be able to start today's thread. but i guess post #4 isn't bad...

hormones = me puking every morning again and crying about EVERYTHING!!

i'm glad i don't have the grumpy ones but seriously, i'm soooo sick of puking from this babe that i'd rather be yelling at everyone

guess i'm going to go back to bed, i was just over in mdc co-ops ordering way too many dried fruits and nuts. i'm addicted to those co-ops and i just can't help myself because it's such a good deal. dh is not going to be happy so i think i'll just tell him after we get the yummy organic cashew butter...oops!

hope everyone is feeling well today and i'll be back after i wake up!

Looks like we are heading out to the hospital this morning. Hope to see you guys in a couple of days with news of a baby!

Have a great weekend everyone!!
Alwaysbymyside ELV to you!!! We can't wait to hear the news.

Same old crampy contractions here, which clearly mean....not much! Going to work on getting the baby's room more ready today. You would think that would have been accomplished months ago, but not so possible around here. Maybe he/she is just waiting for a snazzier living environment.

and yeah these hormones are a beast! It has to be the hormones, right, and not that I am just not nice anymore?

Also, anyone had a weird reaction to certain foods again? My midwife, bless her soul, told me to try and relax and sleep last night, to have a glass or half glass of wine and REST. So I did. We had prosecco in the fridge and I had a glass...and commenced to feel totally dizzy and spinny and nauseated. Like a high school kid that got into daddy's liquor cabinet and is having to learn a valuable lesson. Only I really did just have 1 glass, and not a big one at that. And then I panicked that I gave the baby clearly unwanted vino and that it would be born tipsy. Could it have been something I ate? So strange! Now it is the next morning and I am awake way too early feeling achy and ugh. Am going to try to go back to bed.

Good morning everyone.

Ds was up til 1am puking.

I've been up since 2am having contractions and loose bms.

DD2 woke up at 7:30 telling me she feels sick too.

This is not going to be a fun day.

39w1d here. Maybe baby will stay put til his siblings are well and I have energy enough to get him out.

I am 3 days over due now! Not feeling to well. Have been having contractions since Tuesday. Haven't gotten any sleep since then. This is the most stubborn baby ever I think!

I'll say it's hormones! Thats my story and I'm sticking to it! My MIL just called to see if we have a stroller to bring to her house so that my SIL could push her babe to the Synagogue this morning, sure no problem, but it's been in my garage all winter... "well, can you clean it?" she asks !!!!!! Ya Mom, let me got out the hose and and bucket and I'll get right on it! It's only 14 out!!!!
She's easy to say no to, so my annoyance didn't last long, but please woman!
So I'm chugging coffee and running out the door for the day.

Alwaysbymside, Yaaaay baby, ELVS mama!!!!

Oh Kathy, I feel for you sister, let them all get it out of the way at once! I fretted about impending illness and the dc's to my MW yesterday.... we have a weeks vacation coming up, if it's going to happen, let it happen this week PLEASE!!!! I hope they all feel better before you baby comes!

Calebsmom... : make that head ache go away!!!!

Love you all!!!! Happy Birthing to all who might be laboring today!!!!!

Still here...still pregnant....did not sleep well.

However this morning we have bloody show I don't think I ever had that with DS and I even had my membranes swept with him. I also figure it must mean a little progress because I was at 2-3 cms on thursday and had no mucous plug and all day yesterday I had mucous plug coming out and now bloody show.

I have a can of pineappple calling my name. Please come today baby......

MIL bets I'll have him tomorrow or Monday. I want him NOW!!

I have one question. My contractions have gone from being belly round to achy bum. Not like "I need to push!" but I feel pressure and pain down low rather than around my belly. Is that normal? With DS I had all back labor and I don't think I ever felt a "real" contraction (I got an epi after 4 days of back labor ctx.)

hey steph and darcie- aren't you so glad to have MDC to come rant freely here and be with a bunch of other people who TOTALLY understand and were probably going to write the same exact sort of things as you! it's just so fabulous to me. i apologized to DH last night and told him i want to be nicer. no huge career goals, parenting improvements, learning a foreign language...just let me be nicer, god. thanks.

operamama- that lil soaker and matching hat is so beautiful. i really like the colors. i can only crochet hats and scarves so far! but my mom is a master of all yarn and she made me lots of soakers for ezra that i am glad to use on this babe, too. hope that the sweep is super effective for ya!

playamama- gosh, sorry to hear that you are puking these days. didn't we think that time was over? i am trying to convince myself to not spend more money on another Under the Nile co-op b/c i just did one before christmas and i certainly don't NEED anything more from them at this point.

always-sending you ELVs and a gentle birth!!! we'll be waiting to hear back from you. i hope you have good support and get to nurse that babe asap! how exciting!

trizzle- i have been having BHX, too. not much the whole week then some yesterday off and on. from 6-8pm my tummy stayed tight and i got in the bath to relax. sorry about the wine, wow only one glass, eh? you'll be a 'cheap date' for a while post partum...won't we all? i have had a resurgence of acid reflux lately. it's really not comfy and annoying. but i don't think it's just one thing that i ate but something going on with my body.

linda- sorry for the aches, mama. can you go see a friend and lounge on her sofa while the kids play...or do you have a friend who could take DS to the park, perhaps? i totally think now is the time to exploit people's sympathies for us as tired ole preggos!

jami- that drum set up is awesome! how fun for the kids. and, you may just own the largest sofa i have ever seen in my life. wow, that thing is long. must be so comfy!

kathy- quick healing vibes to all of you! can you call on anyone to help you clean up or do laundry that i would imagine is piling up with lil pukers?

oh, isra, i hope that you can rest today. you need it for labor energy.

samantha- glad to hear my MIL isn't the only oe with weird-o requests. and, glad that we can say "uhm, no." to them w/o hurting their feelings too much. coffee makes my babe so active that i had to stop my every other day half decalf soy latte addiction. I miss it!!!

sarahlynne- sure sounds like "progress" to me! yay for bloody show. my friend called it "scarlet blossoming" just recently and that just sounds beautiful, eh? feeling it lower is totally normal...may have to do with how engaged the babe is?

LOL! The grumps have hit full force! Last night I broke an ice cube tray trying to get the ice cubes out, then threw it across the kitchen in H's general direction. Granted, he was in trouble and deserved to be, but I probably didn't need to throw an ice cube tray! Baby boy, you are officially EVICTED! Get out, please. Pretty please.

okay, now what is going on with me? last night, i posted that my tummy was tight and i took a long bath that helped me relax. ezra got in with me after a while and poured water on my tummy but our tub is just so small that if it wasn't so precious, it wouldn't have been comfy for long. i asked her, "am i in labor?" she said, "no, not yet." she's my lil 27 month old labor guide.

i have such exciting news to share that i hope will encourage us all as laboring mothers! remember how i told you all that the MW i assist called to ask me if i was up for attending a birth? well, the babe was born early, early this morning gently at home into water. i gotta be careful about spilling all the beans b/c she posts on her and i don't want to steal her thunder. but, ladies, she had a HBAC!!! I am so thrilled and proud of her. It was just fabulous to watch and know that now in my head. I have seen VBACs but at the birth center. So, this was really encouraging for me! Another friend of mine is planning a HBAC for March and it's just so exciting all of these women taking back the power of natural, vaginal homebirths. so fabulous to me. i am sleepy but still high from it!

i had to crawl through the window bc the door was locked and i was without keys. i avoided calling DH so i wouldn't wake him up but our dog started barking and DH came running down the stairs. yeah. plan foiled. and, i have a gash in my leg from hauling my fat ass up on the window sill. thank god it was dark out! no one wants to see any of that pregnancy olympic stunt i was trying to pull off. ugh.

DH is making pancakes, vegan suasage and smoothies with ezra right now while i lay in bed catching up with you all. is this the life or what? now, if my hips weren't so achy and my stomach so tight every so often...

I'm still here too. I had a small glass of Port last night to celebrate my last day of work. DH and I DTD this am to try to get things moving and were, miraculously, able to get back to sleep after. We both slept long and well for the first time in weeks, it was WONDERFUL! I forgot what it felt like to be rested. Here are some sleepy vibes to all you ladies who (like me) have been having a hard time sleeping :.

Today is my EDD! YAY!!!! I think I"m going at least another week but we'll see...baby gets to decide, not me. I'm just still trying to enjoy the ride. This weekend has been dedicated to......NOTHING! I mean nothing....we are going to sleep in, lounge, walk on the beach with the dog, drink chai, go to the movies, order takeout, whatever we darn well feel like. This will probably be the last time we can ever do it so we're going to live it up!!

Hi everyone, good to see you!

I am cranky today. I think I might be just a little bit sick, I can't really tell if it's illness or just end-of-pregnancy blahs. I feel the mildest of nausea -- nothing serious, just blech about food. I'm also starving, and very very tired. I took a 2 hour nap yesterday and went to bed early. This morning I still feel blah like I could just get back in bed.

I'm pretty sure this baby will never come out and I will be huge forever. It seems like this is never going to end.

We're supposed to have a big ice storm tonight, yayyyyy : : just what we need, more crappy winter weather. This has been the worst winter we've had since moving up here, and I'm so. sick of it.

See, told you I was cranky. I'm trying to think of what we can do today that will make me feel good - run some kind of pre-baby errand, or do some schoolwork (yuck). I just want to lie on the couch and watch tv.
good morning! 38+2 and still feeling the same. we had a really nasty storm last night and my grandmother-in-law was so sure i was going to have the baby during it. still think i'll be going to at least 40 weeks.....
