I am looking to receive clarification for what skills would 'typically' be considered appropriate for a Monitrice.

I currently work as a Birth Doula and a Birth Assistant to a CNM at a free standing Birth Center and would enjoy broadening my skills while I await the right time for me to take on an 'official' midwifery apprenticeship. I discussed expanding my role with the CNM I work with and she is willing to work with me in this way. I look forward to learning all I can from her... She is amazing!
Is there any official training available to become a monitrice? I am confident that together we will determine which skills I could learn and improve on that would be most appropriate for a montrice at our Birth Center but I want to be as helpful as possible in creating this new role. I would appreciate any input to help me prepare! Thanks.
