Where do you get FOE or other binding material that doesn't pull?

My mom has been making some wonderful diaper covers for my LO. However, the velcro keeps getting stuck to the binding material. Can anyone suggest a brand of binding that doesn't do this?

Try using 3/4 in or 5/8 in FOE instead of 1 in. It's not as plush, but doesn't pill like the 1 inch.

You can use strips of PUL or other poly or nylon fabrics to bind edges, just as you would using bias tape. If using a knit fabric, cut the strips across the width of the fabric (so it stretches if you pull on the ends of the strip). If using a woven fabric (coated or ripstop nylon, etc.), cut on the bias so that the strips have a bit of give to them.
She will want to use the 2-step application method - sew the strip to the outside of the cover, matching the raw edges. Then apply the elastic to the seam allowances. Then fold the binding strip over the raw edges of the cover, and stitch into place like you would bias binding.

I tried some 3/4 inch no pill foe, but it wasn't nearly as stretchy as the 1" stuff. I just put up with the pilling, it doesn't affect the usefullness of the dipe or cover.

laundry tabs??

What about adding some laundry tabs to the covers? Basically they are the loop side (soft side) of hook and loop tape (velcro) and you add one adjacent to the hook part. Before you throw it in your diaper pail you fold the hook-velcro onto the laundry tab and it keeps it from sticking to everything in the wash, yet leaves the diaper "open" to get clean.

Alot of all-in-one diapers use them, I don't see why you couldn't use them on covers as well if the velcro sticking to everything is a problem.
