Has anyone used this with their kids? I am thinking about getting it as ds will not let me brush his teeth but am not sure if it is actually as good as it claims to be.

Well, I'm not sure how great of a toothbrush it is. DS really loved to chew on his, especially when teething. However, if I could do things over again I would use that brush as a teether and be persistant with real toothbrushing. My DS has decay, but I wouldn't blame it all on that brush.

In my experience, it's not a substitute for a regular toothbrush. DD is 11 months now (see post cavities on ends of teeth.....). We used it for the 1st two months after top and bottom tooth appeared because she resisted having her teeth brushed. Now she has cavities on her front teeth, which I think could have been prevented by practising better, more thorough toothbrushing (which we're doing now, but I'm scared it may be too little too late. hope to not lose the teeth).

So my advice - it's a great little teether and dd loved it (also gets saliva flowing) ....but I'd use a real toothbrush properly to actually remove the placque. Wishing I had made brushing her teeth non-negotiable from the start. Better her fighting me than a complete stranger in a strange place in dentist office....
