I am a wreck!

I just returned home from a night out with DH and as soon as he leaves w/ the sitter, my littlest DD wakes screaming in pain holding her belly. I called the dr's, the nurse says it sounds like the flu and while I have been hoping and praying that if they are going to get anything to get it this week while they are out of school and before baby arrives, I am a nervous reck. I threw up I am so freaked out. All that good food I just ate!!! We left the Bar Mitzvah early because I was so tired, now I'm not going to be able to sleep. To make matters a little worse, I called Dh while he was out bringing the sitter home to get Tylenol, he was so mad about this unexpected errand that he brought back the completely wrong medicine for a 6 year old!!!! I think I'm going to puke again. Tell me I am over reacting, she's going to be fine and the flu is nothing to worry about : ... my poor baby

No fever, and if there was I'd be even worse, though I am so hard trying to learn to trust fevers and not fear them! Just tummy pain. I gave her Motrin and a hot wet towel in a freezer bag for the pain. The poor thing. I just wish I could sleep. I emailed my MW and asked her for moral support, she's good for that! I am so tired, ugh, of all nights, I didn't even get a nap today Oh, and I have the re-occurring cold, weehoo, complete with stuffy nose...did I say UGH yet?

Oooooh. I'm sorry. She'll be okay. The flu is ALWAYS an icky, uncomfortable, miserable, crummy experience, but she will get through it, just as all of us have many times. Just do whatever you can to make her comfortable, and do what mommies do best - just comfort her. Tylenol/Motrin will take away aches and pains, and any fever if she develops one. But there's not too much you can do to treat her nausea/vomiting. Whatever 'bug' she has needs to work itself out of her system, and these are ways to rid her body of this virus. Of course, you need to watch for dehydration. If she is unable to keep any food/fluids down for 24 hours, then you should bring her into the doctor. They may at that point want to give her some anti-nausea meds, but this type of thing typically resolves itself within 12-24 hours.

Try giving her some PediaLyte/Gatorade/popsicles?/ or anything else that she can tolerate to keep her hydrated in the meantime.

Don't worry...she'll be well again soon! I'll say a prayer for you both tonight.

Thank you so much mama's, ya know, I've been through this before, but it doesn't matter how may times, my common sense fly's out the window! It's now 3:30 ish and she's pretty consistent in her pain and misery and I have finally come to my senses! She's little, the pain is big, we will get by!
Thank you again so much for the reassurance and the advice, and the hugs!

The night before my ds was born, my dd #2 was up all night with bronchitis!!! It was so mind-numbingly painful that I thought I would die. Just absolutely die. She has asthma, so we've btdt many, many, many times before. But being overdue with my third made this time soooooooooooooo much worse. I finally got her wheezing under control enough to feel comfortable not taking her to the ER...my mom had come to stay to help with the new baby and she took a turn with dd, so I got about two hours of sleep before I went into labor. Fun! It absolutely sucks when the dcs are sick; even worse when mama is pregnant and going out of her mind with worry. I hope your dd is better with the light of day; somehow sunshine always makes the nighttime agonies ease a bit. Good luck and I hope that y'all feel better soon!
