He is loving kangaroo care! During one of our sessions today, he literally threw himself at my left breast and started screaming at me....he latched on and lazily sucked off and on for 30 minutes! At one point I figured he was done and went to pull him away, and he made this low growling noise at me and opened his mouth back up and starting rooting for it, so I gave it back

Good for him!! I love a man who knows what he wants!!

Thinking of AJ and so glad that you are able to be with him, do the kangaroo care, and provide your milk.

Thanks for the birth story. You are so strong! I loved the part about keeping your older ds occupied on the phone while you were laboring alone. What a great mama.

Gorgeous little boy mama! I'm betting he'll be a handful! So glad he's loving his cuddles and mama milk...makes all the difference doesn't it?

He'll be in my prayers - hope he gets back to normal quickly!

How wonderful that you can do breastmilk and kangaroo care for him. I LOVE to hear that!!!

You are both in my prayers. Yay and PTL (that's praise the Lord not pre-term labor) for more than enough milk and kangaroo care!

He's a little cutie!

Sending warm thoughts from another DDC crasher and former NICU mommy. If you need some support and questions answered, there is an awesome group of women on the preemie/NICU forum. Your son is such a cutie!

They gave me darvocet for the pain, but taking it makes me sick.....I took one finally yesterday afternoon, and had the neighbor watch the kids.....I was puking within an hour Right now other than that one darvocet, I havent had anything for the pain since I left the hospital.

The pain is a little better this morning.......im actually able to get up and move without crying, but just since getting up, it has gotton a little more painful.....DP is back at work, so I have no choice but to be up with the kids.

Im posting an Ayden update in the original post.

Don't be hard on yourself re: pumping - it seems the milk WILL increase, as long as there's some milk flowing - in the end, I found skipping a pumpng when I needed to sleep for 4 hours straight increased volume more than keeping with the killer 2 hr pump schedule they recommend for NICU mom's (does any sane woman manage that -esp once you're out of the hospital?). Allow yourself to heal and I really do hope you get help with the kids - you have so much on your plate with the latest one as it is.

and aaaaaah, kangaroo care is a joy beyond words, for the both of you!

Take care, and many hugs.

He is absolutely gorgeous. I'm thinking of you both - you are doing an amazing job, mama!

for you and a for your little guy. This is such a tough time for both of you, and you're doing an amazing job so far. Keep up the good work. Rest when you can; it's okay to miss a pumping session. Like Kothi said, sleeping and healing is going to help you make more milk in the long run. I hope you start feeling better soon, too. It's so hard to drag yourself into the NICU several times a day when you should be home in bed.

Oh, and he's just adorable!

butting in from the April DDC - He's looking LOVELY! Perhpas it's just the pictures, but I see LOTS of improvement in him! You're doing a great job- and so is he! GROW AJ GROW!
