Daily Check-in 2/17

Good Morning Mamas!!!!

Well, we actually slept in until 7 and I'm shocked there's nobody out there yet posting the daily thread! It shows how many have already had their little ones .

I was in a very strange space yesterday. DH and I took the whole day to do just as we wanted - stayed in bed until noon, walked the dog in the woods by the bay, it was BEAUTIFUL, went to a movie. We saw No Country for Old Men. I'm a very sensitive type and it was really graphic for me (I can't count the number of times I had to look away from the screen) and the subject matter was disturbing. I'm sure it was, what most would consider, a "good movie" but I felt mentally violated after it was over. It didn't leave you with much resolution so I ended up just feeling really disturbed. Then I started to have some contractions and got all sorts of worked up. Luckily they didn't lead to anything so I listeded to my positive affirmations with my hypnobirthing last night and that helped!

I'm at 40+1 today and still have a few more things to do before the baby gets here...but I'm going to start that tomorrow .....

Morning! 38+2 here.

Jaimee, sounds like a great day - how wonderful! (Well, the morning sounds great, anyway! Not the graphic movie & being totally yucked out & upset part...) I slept in (since I'd been up until 3:30), then did a bit of cleaning, got a massage, came home, cleaned the fridge - THAT felt great. Plus, the raging hormones lifted & I felt human (and like a nice person again) yesterday - YAY, so much nicer than being a grump.

I think I've been doing lots of cramping/B-H'ing in my sleep; I keep dreaming about it.

This week's aesthetic developments:
-my stretchmarks grow bigger & a bit redder daily, it seems;
-my boobs are now getting lopsided, with one getting noticeably bigger than the left. what is THAT about??? fun fun fun

Ok - I really only woke up to get a snack at 6:30 - gotta get off the computer & go back to bed for a while!!

Have a good one, all!

Good morning!

Still hanging around 39w5d... this was the day I had DS.. Never thought I would go this far! So today we are going to church (haven't been in a while and figured won't be going for a while), going to go to the health food strore so I can get some dairy free chocolate (totally craving) and then Lowes..

NOW.. I always get ctx at Lowes. Don't know why. I did with DS and I do with this one.

Holiday tomorrow, so DH will only have to work a few hours (to make up for staying home Wed to watch DS during my appt with mw).

ok.. enjoy the day.. sunny but : here!

Jami, I feel for you, I was up all night w/ my littlest who woke up as soon as I walked in the house from a nice night out w/ DH, screaming with stomach pains. I totally freaked, like I always do when they are sick. I called the Dr and the nurse said it was probably flu (I apologize if you've read my "I'm a Wreck" thread) but anyway, no sleep, and she is up running around this morning! Which is a good thing, but I am wiped!!!! And I was feeling so crampy last night and so sure that baby had dropped... well, another day, hey I'm 39 weeks today!!!!
My Bro is coming over to ( DD is over my shoulder giving me grammatical and sentence structure corrections!) prep and paint the girls bedroom and then we have a b-day party (DD requested the icon) this afternoon. I'm going bak to bed.

Good morning! I am still here at 40w5d. Still relatively miserable with swelling and carpal tunnel. Oh, how I wish I could nest!

Still getting over this cold/sinus infection like so many others. I am getting more sleep, but I can't say that it is quality sleep. I think I may have had some contractions last night, but not sure if I was dreaming it or not. It is pretty sad when you dream to have contractions.

I felt well enough to get out for a few hours yesterday. We took our carshare to get some groceries and finally picked out a stroller. We went with the Maclaren Triumph, which is really light--very necessary for public transit. It doesn't work for a newborn, but I plan on using my Moby wrap for most outings. The stroller is really just a backup. I did a lot of research (I mean, I am a librarian ) and the Triumph seemed to be the best stroller for public transit. I am happy with the purchase so far.

I know I don't post often here, but I am always lurking. I think I may have lost my mind during this pregnancy without you all.

Thinking of all of you with your new LOs and those of us still in the waiting game. Oh, and ELVs to those in labor today! Just wishing it was me.

Good luck Mommy2Austin!

I am 40 +4
I have been having contractions since last tuesday, and last night they were almost unbearable. I am exhausted, I cannot sleep. My DH is being so good to me, he is not sleeping either. He rubs my back during the contractions.
My best friend came over and scared me with the story of her sister. Her mom went 2 weeks past her due date and her sister was stillborn, so I am terrified to go any longer past mine. I still feel the baby moving though soI know she is ok.

I haven't been posting in daily, mostly lurking for awhile. Checking every day for pictures and posts about the new babies!

I'm 40w+1 today. Feeling really ready to hold my babe, but trying not to get anxious. ds was 1 week over, so I could easily last for a bit still. Trying to remind myself that babe will come when he/she is ready. Had a dream last night I had a boy.

Spent most of yesterday cooking freezing calzones. then went to my cousin's dd's 1st birthday. If my little one is born on the 19th, they will be exactly 1 year apart.

Today is the start dh's weekend, we may go shopping for a stroller, or stay home and rest to get over this horrid cold. I will try a long walk today.

Oh, and I have taken to sleeping in ds's bed (he and daddy sleeping in ours) so I can get some real sleep!

Hi Everyone! I decided to join you all again today LOL. I was sick with a fever Friday, still icky yesterday, and well still a bit icky this morning but better overall I think. DH got home Friday night so I'm finally not alone anymore, and he doesn't have to get underway at all, not even for the day, for 3 whole weeks. So we are in the clear for the baby to come! I really want to get some nice photos taken today or tomorrow. This afternoon we are all going to see the Gazillion Bubbles Show in the city (I Love the USO...they often get free tickets donated for military!! ). It should be a nice family day. Plus, the theatre is right next to this AMAZING Korean barbeque restaurant...omg...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. I think I'm more excited for the food than the show LOL.

Good luck to all those in labor...how exciting!!! I'm however suddenly getting very nervous about having the baby. I've had a few random pains and such that remind me what it feels like...and makes me go sh*t, I have to do that again!!! Am I nuts? Sometimes it would be so nice to just let go and think, oh, an epidural? Great idea! LOL. I know it will all be ok, just nerves I guess. Plus, you couldn't pay me enough money to step foot in the one of the hospitals around here in labor. They are truly, truly awful. I had DS in a hospital and it was a nice one, pro natural birth, pro mom and baby, etc, so I'm not trying to dis all hospitals. Just the horrid ones in Staten Island!

lincap -- My friend got contractions at Home Depot LOL!! And, both times I have gone into labor, I have shopped at Sam's Club that day. BOTH TIMES. And both times while at Sam's I had to erm use the bathroom profusely while there LOL. I'm worried bc this time I don't have a Sam's membership, it's too far away...do you think Costco will work???

hey mamas,

just wanted to pop in real quick to say hi. trying to decide if i want to go to church or run errands this morning...

i woke up to ezra coming down the hall to snuggle in bed with us. she asked for milk...and she hasn't really nursed since november. but i said, "you want mama's milk?" and, she nursed for quite a while so i guess i have some coming back in now. but let me tell you that i had cramps the whole time she was nursing. i asked her is she was trying to induce me and if she wanted the babe to be born today. she said, No, tomorrow. let's see if she's a prophetess.

hugs to you each! i will read up more later but need to run now. gotta find a snappi somewhere in this town, too!

Amy-i'm feeling a bit of the same...I just remembered that I wanted to shampoo my carpets before she's born...and i still have two rooms to do the walls in...and I wanted to set up the swing (was going to have dh do it while we were in the hospital) and I misplaced my sling so I have to locate that because if we have to stop somewhere on the way home I am NOT lugging the infant seat through the store.

Just hang on girlie...the 21st is a great day to be born (my LMP EDD and 39w5d according to O) Plus it's the full moon

39 weeks and 2 days!

My husband is getting anxious and can't believe that I don't know how many cm I am. We have had lots of births on our island lately- i am the last one they are waiting for. I truly never thought I would hear my manly man of a husband talking about cms dilated. But there he was yesterday asking if I would have them check me at my appt tomorrow- I said ok- haven't been checked since I was 36 weeks and then I was 1cm!

He also texted me to see if he needed to get a diaper bag for 'pampers and bottles' - I told him I am gonna use my purse for diapers but if he saw a diaper bag that HE really liked and wouldn't mind lugging around to go for it- and I also explained to him that baby will only be taking bottles at home on the occasion that he wants to feed him expressed breast milk. I think it is just brainwashing to walk around baby aisles and all you see are bottles- he is just assuming we are gonna need a bunch of them- plus he has been around lots of babies and they have all been formula fed

Well he got the diaper bag but says it will be the baby's weekend bag for when we go home on the weekends to pack his clothes and everything- what a thinker! hehe. And he got a bunch of other baby things- I can't wait to get home and see what he bought for his first child- so exciting! I love seeing this side of my husband- so nurturing and thoughtful- everyday we are closer to having this baby I am more and more grateful and overjoyed that he is the man I married and we are doing this together

I was sick with a chest cold type of thing- coughing, dry throat and nostrils, terrible ear ache on top of it. I used Nutribiotic drops in the ears, salt water to moisten up the nasal passages and a cool air humidifier for the chest. I am feeling 80% better after doing this for two days- not eating much at all and drinking lots and lots of water and emergen-C stuff- and hot tea. Oh and I gargled with a mix of warm water, salt and lemon- made my throat feel so much better!

I finally have energy again and feel like I could go into labor and be able to do it!

I have a Home Depot nearby my Mom's- I might just have to go down there and go for a walk- haha. Good thing I love anything to do with houses anyway- I LOVE looking through the floor plan magazines up in the front of the store- usually get at least one and bring it home with me...

Sending ELV : : to all the ladies who sound so close! I am so so excited for you and know that we are all there in spirit with you, being the extra strength you need when you're not sure you can go on- know that someone else is giving birth at the same time or has just birthed and let their euphoric feelings be washed over you as well. We will all soon be on the other side- with beautiful babes in our arms looking up at us like we are their sun.

Hi everyone! I'm acutally excited to see no posts at 1 am today! You were all in bed, where you should be!! Hoping everyone gets a restful, lazy Sunday. For the churchgoers, we skipped today too. I'm still too sick (and now terrified of other germs), but it just feels like a day to slow down and rest for us all!

So glad to hear that some of us got good sleep last night.

With my illness FINALLY starting to back off, I have been having some cramping return. Today is the first day in SEVEN days that I woke up and though, "ok, I could handle labor if today is the day!". I'm still really weak, and worried about fatigue if it is today or the next few days, but at least mentally I think I could do what I needed to do. We are delivering at a hospital, so I know if the fatigue factor plays a part, I can always break my own heart and get an epi, but with each day that passes, I know I will get stronger and more able to do what I want, so here's hoping!! 40 weeks and 3 days, today...no need to rush!

Lilyblossom, I am the same in weird movies, sorry that bummed your otherwise special day! Now that I am just on maintenance for the hypnobabies course, there are days when I find that just doing some affirmations is exactly what I need. I don't do any other practice (hope I won't live to regret it!)

Steph, hope you got back to sleep and got good rest!

Lincap, hang in there today! Even though you aren't even 40 weeks, the day I passed my DS's birthday (39 weeks) was strangely hard for me. I just didn't expect to still be pregnant, so it was just a really weird day. Hope it's a great day, instead, for you!

Caleb'sMama - saw your other thread...thinking of you today!

Samurai - Hugs to you today! Hope you find some chance to rest! Congrats on 39 weeks!

Sewingmama! - Things sound GREAT and ready! Hope your "ready" feeling is a premonition!

SarahLynne!!! Major ELV's to you! Can't wait to "meet" the baby! You can do this!!

Phillybama: the stroller sounds awesome. I will have to check it out! Good luck on the sleep!

Isra: glad your dh is being so great! Don't worry about your LO!!! Keep doing kick counts, and then just let that fear go! This baby will be just fine!!

Fletcher's mama: Glad that there is good sleep to be found!!! Calzones sound great! Do they freeze well? I might have to make some!

Amy - so sorry you have been sick too!! And I know what you mean about remembering labor. Last weekend, I had some major ctx, and it TOTALLY threw my confidence. It was like, "Am I crazy!!? I really want to do this again!??" I hope that, when it starts for real, I will hit "the zone" and do great, though. I know you will too!!

Gunter, so sweet about ezra nursing! DS still nurses in the morning sometimes, and it always results in strong BH's. I'm acutally encouraging it in the morning if he is interested, hoping it will start a day labor this time, rather than another night labor!

good morning, all!

so exciting to see all our mamas in labor or gearing up. it's so true that SO soon we will all have babes in our arms. SO SOON!

i had some period-like cramping early this morning (39+2). i got back in bed and made a mental list of how i'd like the morning to go if this really was "it". i was really enjoying thinking about it and dozed off. sadly, when i woke up a couple hours later, the cramping and ctx were gone. dh went on to church and i plan to go in a little later. kinda wanted to see if i get up and around if things will start up again.

hang in there, ladies. we're getting there! we are all on the train and the train IS moving!

I have been having ctx since i woke up...but...they are getting closer together and more regular and lasting longer. i didn't want to have her today since my mom announced last month that Kaitlyn WOULD be born February 17th so if this is it can you send me long labor vibes??? I do a lot better with a longer labor (especially since I don't go in right away) as I think a short labor would be waaaay traumatic. I need a nice easy transition from pregnancy to motherhood. not a wham bam thank you ma'am. 2 hours and you aren't pregnant but are a mama again. wouldn't be able to wrap my mind around that!

anywho a friend woke me up texting me and since I'm done with her i'm going to go lay back down...maybe they will go away. this sucks
