Anyone in Suffolk?

I'm new to the boards and just found this thread. I was wondering if anyone is in Suffolk/East Anglia. I'm pregnant with my first (a girl), due the beginning of July. We're American, stationed at RAF Lakenheath--we've been here a few years and have one more to go. I haven't been able to meet anyone else on base with a "natural family" attitude and was hoping to hear from some others in the area.

This is funny... I read the first line of your post and thought... "that's odd, I didn't think I'd replied to this thread yet."

We're also Canadians living in Seattle (well, just outside Seattle, we're on the eastside in Bellevue) and relocating to England. DH took a job in Reading. Apparently, a number of people in the office live in London and take the train into Reading, but I think we're going to try and find something close to DH's work so he can bike.

The movers are coming tomorrow though, so I really shouldn't be wasting time on MDC!

I now live in the Isle of Man (half way between liverpool and belfast) and I think I am the only person on the island with a MT although I have seen a couple of mamas with ring slings. Wow. You've got more guts than me. When I last visited my mother in Douglas I felt so out of place nursing and carrying my DD in a (admittedly failry garish) wrap, I ended up feeding her in public toilets and carrying her in my arms.

Welcome to MDC! It is such a fabulous resource - I am continuously in awe! Anyway, we're about an hour away from you in Essex, just down the M11. But I've been thinking about going to Cambridge someday which would be halfway so I'd be happy to meet up there sometime. Or if you ever come into London, we're near to the last stop on the Central Line.

North East Wales. Originally from the USA but my husband is from here.  Just 6 weeks pregnant. No other children.

I LOVE the name Doric Doula!  That's brilliant. I lived very briefly in a small village outside of Aberdeen and loved

hearing the Doric dialect being spoken and especially loved the Doric songs. It's a great place - had the best bonfire night

in Banchory.  I love where I live now too - beautiful mountains and hills of North Wales - breathtaking!

Every now and then I miss Vermont and Massachusetts but the landscape is similar enough. Just miss maple syrup on tap!
