When we read The very hungry caterpillar, 3.5 yo DS keeps asking me, "What happened to the caterpillar?"
I said "He turns into the butterfly."
DS repeats, "What happened to the caterpillar?"
I said "he makes a cocoon and goes inside and his body changes into a butterfly."
DS doesn't get it. So I tried a simplified version, saying the butterfly is the caterpillar, just with wings on it..... I want to explain it, he really wants to know, but when I do he doesn't understand and just keeps asking again. Suggestions?
