I'm at 40+2 today and still feeling like labor is nowhere in site. Baby has moved out of the pelvis and back into my, um.....throat perhaps : - thus the 2am heartburn induced posting. I think I'm going to spend some time on the ball and on all 4s tomorrow to try to convince her to head back down.

I'm still in good spirits though, I just found some TUMS in our cabinet and I'm hoping they do the trick .

Now that the weekend is over and DH goes back to work, I plan on getting the normal weekend errands done. It was nice that we weren't burdened by them this time around. So for today, I'm hoping to do laundry and grocery shopping and a bit of cleaning around the house. The goal is to be sure I'm getting sufficient rest each day - naps to compensate for not sleeping through the night. This way, just in case the baby decides to come (hear that, baby?!) I'll be ready. I've always been a baby about getting enough sleep so I don't want to give her any reason to wait once she decides on a birth day .

Seems like lotsa babies have been born/announced the past few days, it seems to come in waves - any guesses on who'll be next?

Wow, this group for the most part seems to be doing much better with sleeping, huh? Not so many middle-of-the-night posts, as lilyblossom commented yesterday! (Sorry about your heartburn though, lilyblossom... ) Or maybe it's just that many of the midnight posters are now busy nursing babies!!...I was just thinking yesterday that, oof, by the end of Feb there will be so few of us expecting moms left, who will answer my posts at 2am??

38+3 here. Baby did some kind of BIG shift while I was sleeping and I really had to HAUL myself out of bed because of all the pressure in my upper abdomen - I think maybe he/she rolled more anterior (at least briefly - now that I've eaten a few mandarins to start the day, all that fruit sugar seems to have gotten him/her very kicky, so there's a little less pressure & more little feet feelings up front again), and higher, just like yours, lilyblossom! So I figured I'd just get up & eat something & go back to sleep in a bit.

I just feel so relieved that nesting is seriously underway (DH helped too). I feel like there's now a chance that Baby won't be born into a complete MESS. We'll see though. I also feel SO so glad that my hormones seem to have released me from "hijack" mode & I feel like myself again - hope that lasts!

Good day to all...

I'm 41 + 1 today. I ran a bunch of errands today so I felt good about that but other than that, I was mainly in hibernation mode. I ate A LOT and slept A LOT. It's not even 9pm here but I think I'm headed for bed. I'm glad to have gotten in early on this thread though. Usually I'm the last post - lol.

BTW - Has anyone else had really leaky boobs lately?

I'm 39w3d today and baby is totally posterior. I'm afraid that might put off labor for a bit, which really bites and I'm scared to death of the back labor I hear about so much, especially since we are planning homebirth.

A labor more painful than last time, coupled with a longer labor cause he's not in position...just doesn't seem fun to me. I plan on getting down on my hands and knees as much as possible and also calling some local chiropractors to see if they can help.

Still here, still pregnant at 40w6d.

I am sleeping better than a few weeks ago, but still not really quality sleep. My body aches all over and the carpal tunnel gets worse when I am lying down.

I have been having some sharp cramps really low, so I am hoping that this means the baby's head is finally engaged. I cannot completely close my legs while sitting at this point, so I know it isn't my imagination.

My favorite aunt's birthday is tomorrow, so kinda hoping that tomorrow's the day.

..and nothing new. i'm hoping the full moon/lunar eclipse this week will help move the babe into being ready to come into this world.

getting ready to leave for my weekly massage and chiro appt! love it.

dh had to pull a tick off of my side this morning! a tick. in february. ugh.

gingerbane- i live in the coolest area. we are accepting applications for people cool enough to join us. i think you should apply. locopops is the popsicle shop and there are a few around here. so friggin yummy. in the summer, we go to the gardens and then get popsicles and it makes for a wonderful day.

i tossed and turned all night last night with weak buxton hicks, a full bladder, a tick digging into my side and general restlessness from taking a two hour nap at 6-8pm. will check back with you lovies later today!

Hi mamas,
I'm 41+4 today but I seriously thinking my little one will come today, (God someone please tell me it's true!!) Yesterday had regular contractions (and bloody show) from about 1:30 - 9 pm, then petered out and I got a fairly good nights rest. They woke me at 3:27 am and a bunch more bloody show... I slept between contrax for a couple hours but now I'm up and excited again, they seem to have calmed a bit. I'm bouncing on my ball until sunrise when I'll make DH go for a good walk with me!
Hang in there waiting mamas and keep yourself busy, is my advice!

Looks like I overdid it this weekend with my nesting and errand running. I woke up every hour or so with an awful lower back ache.

Got up at 5:30 and did yoga. Feeling better, but I called in a half day at work, so I'm going to take a relaxing bath and try to get some more sleep this morning.

I'm promising to take care of myself and push away all thoughts of doing some laundry or making labor popsicles or paying bills or putting away freshly laundered baby clothes or or or or!!!!

Everyone join me and take it easy today!

Good luck, mtn! Hope you're holding your baby very soon! So glad to hear you got some rest!!

I'm usually a lurker, but felt like checking it today - 40wks2d and it's driving me nuuuts that this little baby isn't out yet - I have to get myself into a better zone, bc I feel like I've been slipping into the "every body twinge might be labor" zone a little too much lately...

Ginger --- yes, my boobs are leaking like crazy!

Kathy -- after going to the chiro my baby is anterior a lot more now. Good luck!

38+6, and absolutely sick of this whole thing. Had huge meltdown at about 3 am. Really cranky. :

that where I am ! But at 39.2!

Got a GREAT night sleep last night, but mostly because I hadn't slept at all the night before. Fell asleep on my right side, woke up on my right side. Amazing! House full of kids today, but the my wonderful cleaning lady it here!!! I hate referring to her as the cleaning lady, she's actually The woman who makes my home livable because I hate cleaning. But nesting is in full swing here too, even DH is even getting into it! He cleaned off the top of the fridge last night and then dusted all the fans! But my DD's bed room is so unfinished iI don't even want to think about it. My Bro came by and filled in holes yesterday and said "see you next week" as he left. NEXT WEEK? I'm having a baby next week! Where am I supposed to give birth??? I was planning to have it all done by the end of this week. Sigh. Anyway, no more vent! Have a lovely morning mama's or a lovely night, Gingerbane, sleep well! I'll check in later, off to clean!

39w4d (according to LMP, 39w2d according to O)

nothing really new...the contractions continued all night and are still coming. they are getting a bit closer together so it looks like a repeat of yesterday. I woke up this morning with the SOREST throat and downed 2 glasses of water in the first 30 mins I was up. I am about to get another one. I have orientation at 12:30, and my mw appt is at 2, then registration is at 2:50. I want to get at least ONE class at the college...just ONE.

40+2, Hi all!
I took a good long hike yesterday, while I had lots of BH nothing happening. I expect to go another week - but we'll see. It was really beautiful out and I enjoyed heading out on my own. I took my ipod, but decided to enjoy the trees and birds instead - did some affirmations and had a good long talk with the baby - told him/her I'm ready, but willing to wait till he/she is also!
I decided yesterday to start knitting a pair of longies/pants for babe and put off finishing the sweater I have been working on for ds. I think it has taken me so long already that it won't fit him, I'm too chicken to finish it and find out!

This is the second day of dh's weekend so we will clean the house well and maybe head to the park. Also finish up the shopping I didn't feel like doing yesterday.

Trying to update my signature with pictures! Yeah! I did it!

Hey, still here, still pregnant at 40 +5

I actually was able to sleep last night without waking up in pain from the contractions. But my husbands stupid family woke me up at 3 a.m. calling from overseas (They seriously cannot understand the time difference!!!!! They are 7 hours ahead of us!) I had to get up and turn the ringers off both our cell phones and the house phone and it took me 2 hours to get back to sleep. Oh well. No contractions yet today, My husband keeps saying the baby will stay in here until she is ready to go to school.

elyse - I'm with you on that one, that's (in part) why I stopped working on Friday, I was starting to get, "you haven't had the kid YET" comments. Yes, I'm past one of my EDDs but according to O, my EDD is tomorrow. Go fig.

gingerbane - I've been leaking since 18 weeks! It stopped for a bit but now it's starting again. I have to admit though, I've been doing breast massage to get them ready for the babe so that's only adding to the problem.

Steph - I still have a lot of work to do but the house is about 1/2 done...I wish it had started earlier since I'm at 40.2! Luckily though, the freezer is packed so we're at least not going to starve, even if the house is a bit of a mess.

smokeylo - hang in there! I've broken down more times than I can count as of late. As a matter of fact, I had DH go out for ice cream last night since this babe has decided to move back up, rather than sitting nice and low like she was. It was all I could do to make myself feel better and then I was up at 1:30 with heartburn - ooooh the indignity of it all. BUT, it WILL be over soon.

I'm so sick. My cold from the kids that had me sick with a fever on Friday and milkd stuffy nose and cough turned into a sinus infection last night. I woke up this morning with a fever again after no sleep last night. My face hurt when I got up. I'm so miserable. DH went out to get several things the mw suggested...she really wants to keep me off antibiotics so close to birth bc of yeast and such. I'm supposed to put some tto in a netti pott and try that to flush it out...but I can't even seem to get that sinus open long enough to do it. Plus I've never used it and I'm really not too excited about dumping water up my nose LOL. Baby had me scared last night too, I had some painful contractions and I was like oh no please not now!!! It seems baby is just trying to get back into better position after spending several days on my right and a couple posterior. I think it's migrating back to my left which is a good thing. I just need to get well so I can birth him or her!! If I had to do it right now...I'd probably head into a hospital and beg to be pumped full of drugs! :

ELV's to mtnsunshine!!! Hope this is it!

Good rest vibes to the rest of the mamas, it sounds like everyone needs a bit more rest. (Though is there any other way when you are full term like we all are now?)

40 weeks, 4 days today. But...I woke up today and DON'T FEEL ILL!!! I still feel fatigued, but not actually sick. It's a miracle!! I beat it before the babe came! I can't tell you guys how excited I am that this sickness drama is over!

But do kind of feel like I'm in a strange limbo. I've been 4 cm dilated and 75% effaced for almost 2 weeks now, and it's weird that I can't tell if labor is even close. I truly believe that if I hadn't gotten sick, she would have been born by now.

Part of it is that I have been laying down so much over the past 8 days of illness that the babe hasn't spent much time in my pelivs. And lately she has been hanging out on the right, too, so that worries me for positioning. It's not like I could do anything about it with being so sick, but it's still frustrating because she was in a great position before, and it sucks that all my posturing and hard work with walking is pretty much out the window because of the last 8 days.

Anyway, I'm not TOO cranky yet, and wouldn't mind a few more days of rest to get some energy back before she comes, but it's still weird to be in limbo like this.

I'm thinking the full moon this Thurs may do it for me! Who else is with me? We'll see!
