Still here too, still at 41+1 right up there with Gingerbane. On my first official day of leave, and I feel like I'm playin' hookey! I'm hoping the baby comes soon too, it would be nice to spend as much time with the babe as I can!! Also, it would be nice to meet this little one. My SIL's getting anxious for me. It was fun hanging with her the other day and officially trying out my wrap on a baby (instead of a stuffed penguin). Little A really likes the wrap both on me and his momma, it was sooo snuggly and cozy and makes me want to be able to use it asap on our little one. We're determined to make her one (she's handy with a sewing machine, unlike me). She loves the handsfreeness.

Went to the store today and fresh pineapple was on sale, AGAIN! Someone in the grocery world knows I'm past due and want to meet this babe, so we bought a couple and going to dive in later today. Bumped into a friend of Mr Toona who told me not to go into labor at the store...: Dude at this point, any time I go into labor's a good time, TYVM.

This baby dosn't seem to want to stay engaged, it's a little tease. It will be nice and low, and then pop up, and then low and then up... I've been sitting mostly on the ball when I'm home sitting or on all fours (or mostly over the ball on my top half due to my darned wrists). Going to try and get some things done around the house today.

Gingerbane, hi due date buddy, maybe we'll be labor buddies too... eventually? I've got some leakiness, but it seems to happen at night I get up to pee and notice some moisture on the nipples.

Isra, sounds like those contractions are not fun, and ugh, some people do not get time zones. We sometimes have problems with that too, with folks only 3 ours diffrence, 7 is unimaginable!

Ah elyse, maybe you're just getting the prebaby sickness like Helen hypothesizes? There could be an upside!

Fletchersmama, a hike sounds wonderful! Good for you! Have a wonderful day today.

Calebsmama, have fun at college today. Sounds good to me, I miss taking classes! Hopefully all your contractions are getting some otherwise hard work done!

Samuraimom, could you send your woman who makes the house livable around to us too!? Sounds like it sure helps with your lot!

Smokeylo, you will get there... Hang in there Momma!

cocoschmoco, howdy! I guess it's just a fun game of wait and see now, isn't it! Good luck! we will all get there, at one time or another.

lincap, I so hear you... no news, is ummm... no news. meh...

Nymph enjoy your pampering morning! Make it a good one!

mtnsunshinemama, ::: Oh I hope this is it! I'm excited for you, we will be thinking of you!

Gunter, eeeek! I love creepy crawlies, but sooo do not love ticks! Yucktastic! Hope your day goes fabulously well!

Jujubie, I'm so with you on the moon thing! Here's hopin':

Phillybama, carpal tunnel really does make sleep crappy, doesn't it. You have to use your arms to push you up, but your hands and wrists protest... POor momma, it's really a rough go. BUt, hey you said you feel like the baby is super low, and IME (from watching other people) that's a good sign that change is coming! So, keep on truckin!

Happy nesting Steph! Sounds like fun!

lilyblossom, it's kind of reassuring to see someone else mentioning the baby moving up and down rather than down and into position. Not reassuring for birth, but at least reassuring that this baby is not some tricksy freak trying to mess with my head.... unless both yours and mine are!

39+3 Due date on Saturday- yay!

Hi ripe and ready Mommas. I just got back from a walk around this beautiful lake and it was warm and sunny enough to lay out on a grassy bank and give the belly a sun bath- beautiful day in Western North Carolina.

During my walk I asked my baby what his birth was gonna be like and three words came to me- Fast, Wet, Joyous. Sounds good to me!

Had the midwife check me today- closed up- not dilated at all- that means I un-dilated because at 36 weeks I was 1cm. I only did the check because my husband wanted to know- well now he knows- haha.

Hope the upcoming full moon helps us all along who are ready

Thinking good thoughts for all of of you- and sending long distance Reiki for waiting, birthing, recovering and sniffly Mommas. lots of Love

Are you sure it wasn't a bedbug? :

I'm around, and not pregnant. Feels kind of strange, knowing that I'll probably never be pregnant again. After all, I've spent much of the past six years being pregnant. So strange.

'Afternoon Mommies!
I'm happy to say that I am 40 weeks today! My husband suggested I sleep in and I did until about 10am with my In-Laws watching my boys. Well, I got up to find out what everyone was yelling about. We have a dicipline problem with my 3 year old...he won't stop running in the house and won't stop throwing things. My dear MIL has suggested to him that it's ok to "play bowling" and throw soft things. Why would she do this??? So this morning, he broke our new dining room light fixture...frame bent and bulbs broken. Her response...Why do you think he would do that?. They are going home on Thursday. I've been biting my tounge so hard that my husband keeps telling me to be careful so as not to bite it off.

Hang in there mommmies!

Hi everyone, still here and pregnant. I am 39+1. The past two days I have had slight cramping, like pre-AF stuff but only for a short time. Ha! Aunt Flo, it's been so long since I have really thought about that. Baby still hasn't turned, I can still push feet and knees back from my side, I am not too worried about that, MW says that many times they don't turn until it's time. So that's what I am hoping for. Nothing else new. MW rescheduled me again, this time for Tuesday so that DP can meet the 3rd person on the birth team. I'm not concerned though. I still feel like this babe is cozy and going to stay put for a bit longer. I am not sure that I'll be the last, but I won't be surprised if I am among the last of our DDC to meet our babies.

I am suddenly getting really sick to my stomach/nauseous. At nearly 41 weeks, everything is a labor-symptom for me. Anyone have experience with this?
Well, if you get the runs soon it's a good early labor sign.

HI everyone
Today is my due date, and I honestly thought I was going to have the baby. it seems the period pains and the contractions all lined up and I was having both at the same time, rather than how they have been happening. But alas, it all ended and I'm still pregnant. So DH and I went to the beach to hang out with my doula's family, it was fun. I had lots of contractions, but just my standard non painless ones.
So I have a small condundrum.
DH and I get possession of our new house on the 14th of March, so we've given our notice for the place we are renting now for March 21, we gave lots of notice. Our landlord knows I'm very pregnant and due anytime, but he doesn't know we're planning a homebirth. So he emails me today and wants to show the house on Wednesday, but I could be in labour or I could have an infant and I don't want strangers in my house. I don't know what to do. I think he's listed it way too soon, and I wish he would have waited until March since it's over a month until we're going to be out of here. So I've told him that I'm very pregnant and I don't know if I will be labouring or not on Wednesday. I didn't go into details.
so what would you do?

Dea - I think it's perfectly acceptable to let him know that you may be laboring and that the appointment for someone to look at your current place may need to change last minute. Strangers wouldn't feel comfortable knowing they may be disturbing a laboring mama. Tell him that he can make the appointments as long as he and they understand that you may have to cancel them last minute.

There is no reason for him to know about the homebirth either - it really is none of his business.

Congrats on the new place! I hope it's a joyous occasion for you to be moving in with the new little one - a fresh start can be a beautiful thing!

Dea -- I agree with Jaimee.

: Even some of the non-crunchiest moms labor at home for a long time, that's all he needs to think you are doing.

Amy, how are you feeling? Hope things turn around health-wise soon!

Thanks Emily. OK at the moment. Just so stuffy!!! I've taken 3 showers today to open up my sinuses! I'm just trying to keep them drained and washed out and hope it will clear up on its own super fast. I'm doing the neti pot with tto, a natural nasal spray with xylitol and gse, taking garlic...: My contractions and such have picked up the past couple days so I know things are starting to head in the birthing time direction, I just need to be well enough to handle it! I did at least get some rest today thank goodness, and plan on heading to bed soon.

Did you all hear that the full moon Wed night is also a total lunar eclipse!? The really funny thing about that is there was lunar eclipse the week DD was due too! Maybe this baby can come by the weekend (if I'm better). Still need to take those pictures I want, but I can do that tomorrow if I get some sleep tonight and feel halfway human!

aimee- it's hard to say...sounds like it could be but you never know really until things pick up whether it's labor or not. like, i have felt that way last week and didn't go into labor. but, if you are ready then i hope the babe is ready, too and these are the first signs for you!!!

peace- i may be there with you until the end. my edd is feb 29th but really that whole week could be my due week, b/c i was unsure. my ezra was born at 37 weeks and i've already made it past 38! but i got some pressure points touched today during massage and chiro. so, i am warming the body up letting the babe know i am ready! been having buxton hicks (womb name is buxton) for a couple of weeks and had cramps off and on. so, we could be the last ones together or i could be up for going any day now!
