Hi I'm new.

I've been TTC for 7 months now, my Dr put me on clomid (50mg) after it was determined that I don't always ovulate (average of 8 periods a year); I started taking it in December. Everything went well that month, I ovulated between CD14-CD16 (+OPKs CD14, CD15, and CD16) and my period started on CD31.

This round, I ovulated a day or two later (+OPK on CD16, CD17, & CD18). I'm currently, 5 days late (from last month), I'm on CD 37 and 20DPO. I took a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative.

This whole month has been weird. My breast usually start to get sore when I ovulate, this month they didn't, and I usually have dull cramp/aches throughout the 2 weeks leading up to my period. Which I have but they disappear for a couple days at a time (unusual for me).

Is it possible to have a annovulatory cycle while on clomid?

TIA

P.S. the only thing that has been different between this month and last is that I started exercising, which is 25 minutes on the ellipitical nothing too sternuous.

Yes, it is possible to be annovulatory while on Clomid. Clomid alone does not make me ovulate, I have to have U/S to determine when the follicles are ready and receive a "trigger" shot to force the follicles to release. It is not unusual when dealing with Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which is often indicated by irregular cycles. Has your RE tested your hormone levels? Did they do U/S scans to check for follicle growth? Both of those things should happen, so that you and your doctor have a better idea of what's going on.

I read somewhere that Clomid is successful in only about 50 percent of the women it is used on. Crazy. The half that it doesn't work on are anovulatory for reasons other than estrogen levels, I think....

I might be heading down the Clomid road myself soon. Best of luck to you -- I hope it works.
