Fetal fibronectin test?

I need resources on this test, specifically if there's anything that can be changed in the woman's care to actually prevent prematurity. Plus any real world experience you've had with this test would be helpful!

thanks!

Fetal fibronectin is a by product of cervical dilation. The test does not prevent preterm labor or birth, but it CAN differentiate between preterm CONTRACTIONS and preterm LABOR-thus preventing unnecessary bedrest. In the past, women who were having preterm contractions were put on bedrest because we never really knew if it was CONTRACIONS or LABOR.

I forget the exact numbers, but a negative fetal fibronectin is 90 percent assurance that preterm birth will NOT occur in the next 72 hours.
