Muscle cramp when eating alot of Fermented veggies??

I saw that someone mentioned thi in another thread and now I can't find it.
This happens to me too...... I am wondering why?? If I eat alot of lacto-fermented veggies (beet kvass, cabbage, sauerkruat, cabbage juice, pickled beets, ect, ect.....) over a day or two I get muscle cramps, "charlie horses"

I wonder if my body can't clear the acids?? Do I need to excercise more?? What??

i dont know specifically about randome muscles cramps but i do think that fermented veggies and fruits contain a lot of fiber and some folks need to gradually ease into a high fiber/living enzyme diet.

i would think it was caused by the lactic acid in the ferments....i believe lactic acid is the same thing that causes people to have sore muscles from working them more than normal...perhaps start with smaller amounts and drink more water...drinking water is one of the recommendations to help prevent sore muscles from exercise.

Maybe you need to slowly ease into them, rather than consuming a whole lot of them when your body isn't used to the ferments, and be sure to have lots of water with them.

I think the post you saw was mine. I can't handle lacto fermented veggies. If I eat a little bit for two days in a row I get these terrible muscle cramps. Very painful. I've had a look on google and the closest I can find is lactic acidosis.

I am going to try to make mine without whey, just salt and see what happens. Please keep me up to date if you figure out what is causing it. I would love to eat lacto fermented but it is too painful. I eat lots of raw fruits (snacktime at 11am and at 4pm and sometimes just fruit for breakfast) and I've never seen anything like this. Maybe my body tries to compensate the acid by extracting alkalinity from my muscles and bones?

I also have a sluggish lymph system with swollen glands under my chin. Maybe my body can't process and eliminate the acids properly?

Hmmmm..... was hoping you'd know, since you were to OP. I eat fermented veggies daily. I make most with whey, a few with cultures from body ecology..... if I eat more than one or two servings though, I get the muscle craamps. It has been 6 months, so easing into it is not the solution, LOL.
