Body hair removal help

I have thick, dark hair, everywhere. I am extremely lazy about grooming, especially in the winter. But I have recently decided that I would be happier if I removed the hair from everywhere except my head and my eyebrows.

So what are your tips for removing hair from legs, underarms, bikini area, as well as tricky places like the backs of my thighs, between my eyebrows, and on my upper lip and cheeks?

What methods are there? What are the pros and cons? What would you recommend? I'd like to do this within the next couple of weeks if I can.

Thanks.

I use warm wax everywhere. I tried sugaring, but it left some hairs, so I went back to warm wax. For the bikini region, I use this: http://www.pharmacyonline.com.au/and...=shopping_com&
I have tried other waxes, but this one is the easiest and most effective IME.

Darn, I don't have a microwave.

I tweeze and trim my eyebrows, shave my underarms and legs and wax my bikini area. My fave wax for this is the hot wax from www.parissa.com. I even have their little warmer--like a hotplate that keeps the wax at the perfect temp.

I go get groomed...I'm just not good at it myself.

I go in once per month (in the summer) to get my legs done and if I let it go too long without shaving at home, I'll get my pits done as well. I also get my eyebrows threaded and lip waxed approx once per month.

I highly recommend waxing (at home or not) I've noticed thinning of the hair on my legs since I started.

Keep the recommendations for wax coming! Any recommendations for razors or tweezers?

I use tweezerman tweezers for my eyebrows (dh actually does a great job on my eyebrows...he might die if he knew I shared this bit of info on here though ), and I use schick quattro for women & the refill blades.

I can only use one kind of tweezer. Don't know why. It's made by Revlon, has the finger-loops and a slant tip.

To trim my brows, I use a pair of pointy little nail scissors I got at the Body Shop about 8 yrs ago.

For a razor, I usually use whatever shows up as a promo item in my mailbox. Right now it's a Venus Breeze. It works well.

Where do you buy these things?

(I would prefer not to buy online this time)

I don't mean to hijack this thread but I have kind of a silly question for those of you who wax at home. DH prefers a brazillian wax. I've been going to a spa to have it done but only because I had a couple gift certificates there. I'd really like to do it myself at home because I'm too cheap to shell out that much money so often! Do you really brazillian wax yourself? If so, how in the world do you do it?! I asked DH if he'd be willing but he's too nervous so far.

I do it myself. Really, with this wax, it's not that hard. I have to admit it is hard to reach some places though (and you have to be willing to do a bit of gymnastic, but hey, I spend around 10$ for a box that will last me 4 or more brazilian waxes, so I figure it's worth it), so I still use tweezers for hairs I cannot reach with the wax.

Thanks.
Do you recommend tweezers, or is there a wax available / recommended for chin and lip?

Thanks! I think I'll give it a try. It's a good thing I'm flexible!

I have brazilian waxed myself. My hair grows way too fast for me to want to pay for it. Yes, being kinda flexible helps. Good quality wax really helps even more. Once you get used to it, it's not that hard.

Everything I use I get at Ulta. Except the wax hot plate...that I ordered online. And the hot wax refills.

THANK YOU for the Ulta recommendation, anotherKatrina! We have one here in town but I had never been there because up until now I had never had the slightest whit of interest in anything they sold. But we went tonight and I was WAY impressed with the selection. I wanted to get one of everything but we didn't have much money so I just got a pair of Revlon tweezers and some wax strips. We don't have a microwave and I don't have the guts to ask to use someone else's, so most of the hot wax stuff was out, and I've had breakouts from depilatories in the past so I avoided those. I was curious about everything else though. I may go back in a couple of weeks and get a nice razor from them. I hope the tweezers and wax strips work!
