I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about the products of Melaleuca. I have recently started using them and wonder how natural they really are. Maybe someone here knows something I dont know. :

they claim to be "natural" yet use parabens. i wouldn't reccomend them if you want to avoid things like parabens.

In agreement with Carrie. I was given a bottle of M's body wash and it contained 2 or 3 different parabens, plus synthetic fragrance (usually derived from petro-chemicals) and it had dozens of other ingredients with names I didn't recognize. I prefer to use products with a simple list of ingredients and only natural preservatives like GSE or essential oils.

I don't know how M got a reputation for "natural" products. Their claim to fame is that they add tea tree oil to every product. But trace amounts of tea tree oil don't make a product "natural" - nor does it necessarily enhance the product in any way. My 2c

I started selling their products and buying them for myself. Check out this website. They preach about how safe and natural their products are. And as a person who sales their stuff this is what I have to tell people as well. So when I started doing some research I was getting confused about what is considered natural. So I thought I would pic the brains of the smartest women I know.

we did it for about 6 months, thinkning it was an improvement- but we're on Feingold and it doesn't cut it.
Lots of additives, artificial colorings and flavors- like the kids toothpaste, plus fragrances, dyes and bad chemicals.
another thing- the ingredients are not fully disclosed on the labels. Instead of saying the chemical that whitens the clothes, say on the laundry soap, they get away with calling it "brightening agents."
other ingredients:
"cleaning agents"
"soil suspending agent"
"builder"

what exactly are these chemicals?

Ditto what everyone else said. Plus, their business practices are shady. Can you say pyramid scheme??? Be careful!!

When I used the bathroom cleaner, I got so sick from the "toxic" smell it had. I had to close the bathroom door and turn the fan on to get the smell out. They are not natural. They cost too much money. They rip you off with having to spend an allocated amount each month. They don't show the actual ingredients on the label. Stay away. You can buy/make much better cleaners for a whole lot less money that are so much safer for your family.

Thanks so much for your input. I am going to stop using their stuff though I really like Nicole Millers face wash and lotion so I dont know if I will stop using it. If you guys have more info that would be great too.

I don't really have any more info but, I 100% agree with what every PP said. Their ingredients are not all natural as they claim, they do not tell you what that "brightening/soil suspending/etc. agent" is, artificial colors/flavors/fragrances, petrolatum, dimethicone, etc....Which leads me to -propylene glycol, butylparapen, HFCS, "colors", "flavors", carrageenan- all in the kids fever reducer?! Why? Sodium lauryl sulfate in a vitamin!!!? Again, why?

I just have waaaaaayyyyyy too many questions/problems about/with their ingredients. For me, it's like buying any other name brand unnatural item. Just not for me.
