Here's my version of the baby yoda sweater made so popular by MamaFern and Flapjack.
I gauged fine but accidentally picked up the wrong needles when I started knitting and was too far into the project when I realized that the sweater was going to turn out way too long and narrow. So I added a 10 stitch garter swatch up the sides and on the bottom of the sleeves. Works for me.
I used white both because I don't know the gender of my baby and because I had some white cotton ease begging to be used up (only took two skeins). I was planning on knitting up an icord and attaching it the proper way (right over left or left over right) after baby is born. But I also have the option of using these wooden toggle buttons (which I absolutely love).
I'd just crochet a button hole on the edge of the front piece for buttons. My only concern is that they may get in the way/be too hard. Plus I don't know how well wooden buttons stand up to washing. WWYD??
