OH my GOODNESS! % Gallons of CO!!! - Page 2

Yeah, I think I will have to get the 5 gal next time. I literally just bought my 1 gal not longer than a month ago and I'm about half way through it. I use it for everything, literally everything. I cook everything in it, add it to smoothies, bake with it, use it as lotion, deo(CO mixed with BS)....I think I might turn into a coconut head!

Oh, that EFLF fudge recipe is soooooo darn good. I'm still snacking on some I made for Valentine's day. I also added a handful of shredded coconut in the mix and sprinkled some on top. Yummmmm

I think I saw one that was simply equal parts coconut oil, cocoa powder, and honey.Maybe it included butter too? In any case, it was equal parts of all ingredients- warm them up, mix them together, chill and eat. You could probably play around with the proportions til you found your favorite recipe.

I also use the stuff as a cooking oil, sometimes in my hot cocoa (coconut milk, stevia, cocoa powder, water, and coconut oil.) I also have some in a small plastic tub in my bedroom to use as a moisturizer after my baths or showers.

what is eflf? coconut oil fudge sounds so yummy- how do you make it?

i love coconut smoothies like they make at this local raw foods restaurant, its just the juice and fruit from one fresh young coconut (which you can get at any asian grocery for less than 2$ a peice) and a tablespoon of coconut oil blended together. of course you could also add fruit of any kind or almonds or cocoa powder and some honey.

coconut oil and date truffles all Full Moon Feast are excellent. my kids gobble them up.

If you put melted CO in the blender with an egg or egg yolk and pulse briefly, it will emulsify the oil and it won't be chunky at all.

Oops, forgot to sub to this thread! acv=apple cider vinegar

I haven't gotten around to actually *cooking* with it yet. I use it as a facial moisturizer and a deep treatment on my hair.

fudge-
2 C crisy nuts(I like almonds but you can use cashews or pecans)
1 C raw honey
1 C coconut oil
1 C carrob or chocolate powder

The easiest way is to use a quisenart- throw the nuts in first and blend them up. Then add everything else and blend it for quite a while until it forms a nice ball. Throw whatever else you would like to in it like dried berries or coconut flakes.

For me, I have no quisenart so I use my blender to grind the nuts. Throw everything into a big bowl and stir until my arm falls off. For the CO and honey I will take the amount needed and put in in a pot of hot water to soften it a bit.

Take the ball of goo and place on parchment/wax paper and put it in the fridge until hard. Enjoy!

I posted on page one how to make fudge too. I actually use almond butter instead of grinding my own nuts and then I use about a cup of shredded unsweetened coconut. MMMMMM!!! It sure doesn't last long here! Our housemate decided that he HAD to have some last night and so made a late night run to the store to get almond butter and made me make it!

Do you have any super simple recipes to share? Like 3 ingredients?

Here is a recipe link. It is actually a lot easier than it looks. I wish I could've found one that was easier, but most contain a lot of ingredients. Even ours have like vitamin e or rosemary essential oil, to preserve it.

If you just want something quick, I would just combine a few oils that you have on hand, equal parts. Maybe 1 part coconut oil, 1 part olive oil, and 1 part sesame oil. You could keep it in the fridge if you want it firm. It would be a tad greasy, but if you wore it at night with gloves, it would be awesome I am sure for dry skin. However, if you want an actual lotion, the above recipe looks good to me, although I have not tried it personally.

Ooo, almond butter, that would be good too. I did peanut butter once, WAY too "chalky".
