Curious- how would I duplicate stitch ribbing???

Subject line says it all, really. I'm working on a jumper for Isaac, which has a chap with a ribbing mouth on it, and I can't decide how I'm going to do it. It's either a felted jumper applique or ???? Ideas?

Ah. That would be Nev: a knitted handpuppet that my boys kind of like for some reason.Him. His mouth looks like ribbing, and I'm trying to put him on a jumper for Isaac.

I think if you duplicate stitch over the first knit, then do a purl stitch, with the bar going over the second, and repeat this.

It might help to look at a piece of ribbing while you do it, so you can see where the yarn would go.
