What would you knit?

I was gifted some yarn yesterday and have no idea what to do with it. It's 3 skeins of Reynold's Lopi and 4 balls of baby wool that knits at 7 stitches an inch. A very sweet and thoughtful gift but not yarn I would normally buy. So what would you make with it? I was thinking of a felted bag with the Lopi, or maybe the felted mushroom gnome house I've been thinking about since that thread with the crocheted one. I'm clueless on what to do with the baby wool, though. Ideas?

Well... I'm a freak who loves to knit longies (looks around at the four pairs in various stages of completion around the room...). Whenever I see wool yarn paired with 'what should I do with this?' I think of longies

Normally that's what I would knit, too, especially with a babe on the way. Unfortunately, the Lopi is way too scratchy and the baby wool is superwash.

I think this is a lovely set: http://www.knitting-crochet.com/floinfset.html Gauge is 8 sts/1 in which is very close to the gauge for that superwash.

how about some baby type leg warmers for a little tot. i have been wanting to make some of my own "baby legs" make a tube, some ribbing, knit in the round on some dpns until you have a length you like some more ribbing, bind off and the your done.

that is an idea going on in my head right now anyway.

That's very pretty! I wouldn't knit it for a boy but if we find we're having another girl it would be great.
