yep....I'm having a problem BIG time. My bleeding has almost stopped, but I can't forgo the pads just yet because I keep unknowingly peeing myself....anyone else having this problem or am I just weird?? They had to cath me after the birth because I couldn't pee could this be a short term side effect?

*sigh* Thankfully DH isn't making fun of me for it....

kegle kegle kegle! i hope it gets straightened out for you soon!

I'd ask your MWs about it possibly being related to the cath, it's certainly possible I'd say.

Yeah I started doing kegels once I realized it was happening (now that I know it's not just me bleeding....) My midwives are coming tomorrow so I'll ask about the catheter then.

I know my pelvic floor muscles are still shot 3 weeks on: they're at about 50% effectiveness of 9 months pregnant. Talk to your midwives, but it's maybe too soon to panic?

This is a VERY common post-pregnancy symptom. You can always ask about the catheter but doing your Kegels will be a big help. There are other pelvic floor exercises you can do too. There are actually Physical Therapy Specialist that focus on this exact problem so if you feel like you are not getting anywhere with the Kegels (or not fast enough) there are other resources.

Best of luck!

At least I'm not alone I literally don't feel the urge to pee. I only know its happening once it's happening. *sigh* I had a slight problem with this after DS1, but I don't remember it being this bad.

May I join the club? Because although I was blessed with no stress incontinence during pregnancy, I noticed leaks when I sneeze (got a flu last week courtesy of DS...)

Kegels for me...

I would say it is probably not related to the cath, especially if it was just a straight cath (no foley). I gave birth last week and with every pregnancy have not been able to pee for about 2 days postpartum. I always have a foley placed , I go home with it and take it out on day 2. Although have an indwelling cath can lead incontinence it usually takes much longer than a couple of days.

I would think it is just related to childbirth and that doing your kegals will help resolve the problem. If by your 6 week checkup you are still having problems, you may consult an ob/gyn or a urologist.

Good luck and :!

So who wants to start a Depends co-op with me? Because this is freaking ridiculous!!!

I've peed myself no less than 4 times in the last 2 days. Ironically Steven and I seem to be in sync, because as soon as he gets one pee all over hisself I stand up and woops there I go. *sigh*

I was totally vibing from my placenta smoothie last night (still feel great from it, just embarrased and ticked about this) and now I'm grumpy.

Midwives will be here today so hopefully I'll be able to get some sort of answers and possible relief.
