Come together with other moms from the Capital District to show your
support for Kristin Kelly, a mom who was asked to leave the New York
State Museum for breastfeeding her 4 month old son in public.
We will be meeting inside of the NYS Museum at 10:30am this Friday,
February 22nd. This is not a demonstration, but rather a show of
support. Specifically, "Events that may interfere with public use
during business hours are prohibited," according to their website.
It is not our intention to disrupt their business. While enjoying the
museum with our breastfeeding children, we will be using an
opportunity to share relevant information about breastfeeding in New
York State.
AGENDA:
Get there!
Parking & directions: http://www.nysm. nysed.gov/ information/ general/
The museum is free; donations are welcomed.
Dress for success!
We ask that you dress in BLUE or shirts with breastfeeding- friendly
slogans in order to show unity.
Find Abby!
I'll be at the front of museum. Dark curly hair, glasses, carrying a
6 month old in a blue sling. I'll hand you talking points, should you
be approached by members of the media.
Spread out!
Please pair off into small groups to enjoy the museum. Feel free to
stop and breastfeed your child whenever necessary. Remember, it is
not our intention to disrupt their business.
I hope to see many of you there!
