MW opinions needed plz!!! (repost)

Hello! I have a question and was wondering what everyone thought (especially any midwives out there!)

I just found out I am pregnant with my 3rd babe. Before becoming pregnant I was having some pains in my pelvic region and was getting tests and about the same time I got a BFP I also got the news that i have a 6.5cm cyst on the backside of my uterus. I really would like another homebirth or birth center birth, but I'm worried that a MW might not take me because of this cyst. I'm hoping it pops!!!!

My question is....do you think I still qualify for a MW assisted birth? I am too scared yet to call any local mw's to ask, I"m worried the answer will be that i have to have a hospital birth and the thought of that is very scary to me.

I have no idea what that would mean. Did you ask the doctor how the cyst would affect or be affected by pregnancy and labor? If you called me, I would tell you that you needed to find out more about your condition from your doctor.

I also recommend getting more info from you diagnosing provider and a phone call to inform him/ her that you are pregnant and what are the considerations and what is likely to happen?

I reassure you that cysts are usually self resolving. Don't worry, just collect more information.

I think that's the problem is that no one has a clear answer

The OBGYN says that he has no clue what will happen. It may pop, it may squish enough and not pose an issue. It is clear so he's not worried about cancer or having blood vessels going to it. He doesn't think that it will pose a problem, the only one he can speculate is that it may get in the way of pushing out a baby if its not squishy enough. I have trouble trusting his judgement, he's the typical OB who wants me to come in every week for an ultrasound just to make sure the baby is viable :roll eyes:

I didn't have any U/S with my 2nd baby, so it could very well be possible that I've had this cyst for a while. I would just like some opinions because I don't like to blindly follow advice from doctors who are always worse case scenario and on the other hand, if it really is something that should be attended in a hospital, I would obviously like to know that too.
