Easter ideas? - Page 2

post #21 of 24
I most certainly will! I thought for sure I could find some like those little nesting dolls... but, no luck so far.

I also shared this in another forum.. we are going to be doing egg shell gardens in my childcare program... here are the directions:

Egg Shell Garden

Supplies Needed:
Eggshells (colored or plain)
Pieces of Sponge
Grass Seed
Water

Place a piece of sponge inside of the broken eggshell. Add a small amount of water to the sponge to make it moist. Sprinkle grass seed on top of the sponge. Each day water the seed lightly. In approximately one week you should see the grass growing.

You can share the following verse as you make your gardens:

Kind hearts are the gardens;
Kind thoughts are the roots;
Kind words are the blossoms;
Kind deeds are the fruits.
And sunbeams of love in these heart-gardens glow,
That put out the world's darkness, and make Easter
buds grow.

have you seen the paper mache eggs?

here is one link to them, and i think you would be able to cut it around the center, but not all the way through to have a "hinge" on it.

You can also get these usually at Joann and Michaels in the isle that has all of the unfinished paper mache boxes and stuff. I would think that they can be cut in half with a craft knife or dremel.
