I voted Heck No, but put me in the maternity wear category. This wasn't IN 1989, but the dress was from a thrift shop and it could have been FROM 1989. lol

Y'all know about this homeschooling site? If not, you should check it out:

Under the link "Gear," I was most impressed with the thong which says "Not a denim jumper.":

I have a (short) denim skirt... and a denim jacket... and lots of denim jeans... but no denim jumpers. No jumpers, period.

I think the equivalent for unschoolers would be tie-dyes... I do have a bunch of those...

Is it bad that I didn't even know this was a homeschool stereotype? : I guess I haven't been at it long enough

Just a funny aside... Jumpers are what sweaters are called in Australia & NZ

My answer is HECK NO, but I voted "No. Well, OK, yes, but I never wear it." because honestly, I just gave it to Goodwill a couple months ago. And it did have an applique - bunnies, doing something schoolish, I'm sure.

I got it a long time ago (long before hs'ing) from my step-MIL as a hand me down. She's very much a denim jumper kind of gal. I wore it once, was horrified by how I looked, then it sat in my closet for years. It's gone now, I promise.

I do have a denim skirt I like to wear, but I usually wear it with a tie-dye top, so I guess I have the best of both worlds .

Yeah, I was just coming to say this! I had this strange vision of a denim sweater and just couldn't place it lol! We just call those things a dress - and I wouldn't wear one of that style if I were to wear a dress which I don't.

I do own a long denim skirt and a knee length denim skirt though - are they really considered the homeschooling uniform LOL?? I live in my short one atm.

I was reading through and was going to say I hope there aren't too many moms on MDC born in 1989, though I suppose they would be 18 / turning 19 this year ?! That is crazy, because, thats the age I was when I got pregnant / had my first son. My brother was born in 90 and is almost 18.

Also. I do not own a denim jumper, I am ALL about jeans & tshirts. Not so into the dresses.

Heck no. I do own a denim mini that I wear over leggings when there is not snow on the ground.

I had one when I was pregnant with DD#1. I got RID of the thing when I had her and never bought another.

I think only farmers should wear things with overall tops.

nope!

LOL hilarious.

I don't currently. I'd wear a few that I have seen. I like this one a lot.

I prefer denim skirts generally.

UnschoolnMa... I'll take that one, if the body comes WITH it

No overalls or jumpers... I did buy a light-colored denim jumper/skort when I was 19--I wore it once. I felt ridiculous in it, but I think it was the skort that made me feel absurd.

I was lent a denim, mid-calf maternity dress. It was long-sleeved but it buttoned and had a black velvet collar! I did try it on, but never wore it. It was comfy, but still...

No jumper for me, but I've always wanted a denim long skirt, like what was in style in the mid/late '80's I just never got one and now I just don't do skirts at all, I'm all about comfort now.

NOW, my dd9 would love a jumper/skirt/dress of anything, but she loves her denim one a lot. She's so funny, she got a skirt because she loved it so much, it was a school uniform skirt She's very much a girly girl, something I have a hard time relating to, but don't mind indulging.

OH wait! I did own a denim dress in the late '80's/early '90'. Remember them, the form fitting short denim dresses that snapped up the front? I also had one similar up to 2000 that I wore often, but this was all before I was a hser and before hypothyroid kicked my butt.

I voted NO.

I do wear jeans most of the time though........

Hee!

I was homeschooled for 5 years as a kid and I always swore I'd never homeschool my kids because I didn't want to wear denim jumpers and have untrimmed hair to my booty. My Mom reminds me of that and laughs all the time since we plan to HS. Sans jumper and hair.

I do love denim skirts though.

Not only do I not have a denim jumper, but I wear sparkly earrings most of the time and make up every day. I also wear pink most of the time.
Am I still allowed to homeschool? :
