SO proud of my lacatavist DH!

Alrightie, this happened when I was still on maternity leave, and this is just to toot my lil' horn for my DH; he is one of four offspring, none of them bf since his mother is completely against bf---she fed her babies soy and formula, and when I told her I was going to bf our son, her response was (and I am NOT paraphrasing one iota) "I don't know why a woman would waste her time doing that."

So, before I can say anything (and I was going to, and rationally---I'm really proud of myself for that ) DH stands up, tells her ALL about what he's learned about the benefits of bf---even going so far as to say that he feels if she had bf him he feels he 'probably would not have the asthma he suffers with now'.

I'll be danged if the woman didn't go online that night and buy us the NICE electric pump that was waaaaay out of our price range since I'm back to working out of the house---and my freezer is chock full of this wonderful stuff for my lil man I don't think for one moment she's on board with bf---but I got a great useful item I desperately needed, and it did show at least for one moment in my marriage that even if MIL didn't agree with something, she was going to support it anyways--and all because DH stood up to her since I KNOW if it had come from me, the impact would not have been near as good.

Thanks for letting me share!!!

It's so nice when husbands jump in and defend..especially against their mothers (and yes, I have a horrible MIL who tries to be ultra-controlling and throws temper tantrums because we don't do whatever she says).

Good for your DH! And...good for your MIL for getting you the pump you needed. That took courage, and she deserves props.
