My mother reports that when she was pregnant with me, they told her she was 3 cm at 37 weeks.
And then she stayed that way for another SIX weeks, until they induced.

I believe it! (On the other hand, when I tell people I've been 2 cm. for 4 wks, they look at me like I'm either lying or stupid.)

With my 4th baby, I was 5cm and not in labor for several days, so I don't put much stock into the numbers anyways.

But on the other hand, I know what people mean about wanting to see some of the work of labor is already accomplished. Sara
