Shg

I'm having one in the morning (sonohysterogram). The office said they'd be sending me a pamphlet with instructions and what to expect, but somehow it didn't get mailed. I meant to call the office today to ask, since I hadn't received anything yet, but it totally slipped my mind.

Has anyone here had one? Do I need to abstain from liquids or anything like that? Is it as painful as the HSG?

Thanks!

Nothing to worry about- at least for me, and I've had a few. No restrictions before. You might have a bit of cramping afterwards but shouldn't be major, and the test takes about 15 minutes. Hope it turns out well for you!

I've never had that but I recently had a hysteroscopy which I've heard is sort of similar and unfort. I found it quite painful and as painful as the oh-so-fun hsg. Personally I would have liked a heads-up about it since I was not expecting it to be much. In retrospect, I'd have taken something for pain before hand as I did with the Hsg. But my OB did say most women do not find it so painful (the hystero). I just really did. I hope however that you have a breezy exp. may just want to keep the advil around or bring something to squeeze just in case. GL!
