Mildew problem

I am not sure if this goes here. When we moved in here our landlord told us that the wall would mildew if there was any thing cloth next to the outside walls, (they get moist) like laundry, etc. Well, our bed was next to the wall, and there is mildew on the basebards of the wall and a bit on the carpet. The thing is that the landlord told us to kill it with bleach water if it came back; is there anything else I can use to kill the mildew besides bleach?

Anyone? If I don't get a reply soon, I'm gonna just use bleach. *sigh*

TTO or straight vinegar. Apply it everyday until it is dead, then scrub off. There are places in our house that get moldy. To keep it at bay I spray the area/items with vinegar.

Like our dish strainer and cutting board- I spray them every night. A wall is DS's room, I try to spray it once a week.

Young Living makes a great cleaning product that removes mold and keeps it away. It is called Thieves Cleaner.

I have the same problem in my house right now. Do you live in a cinder block house?

I am planning on washing the walls with a mixture of baking soda and water. (1-2 teaspoons per pint of water) Then rinse with plain water. A few drops of TTO on a peice of toilet paper works well too. Just rub on and throw away. But if the wall is painted, the TTO might stain the wall.
