Usually i use apple cider vinegar to pre-treat dandruff spots.

Well I havn't had one ofr awhile, but i do today, and somewhere nice to go tomarrow.
So I look in the fridge, and sure enough - all out of ACV.

Can I use white vinegar instead? Or will it not work?

TIA

Huh, I didn't know either worked, you just let it sit on a little while? So does that work for cradle cap too? Interesting!

Apple cider vinegar will work wonders for most dandruff because alot of times dandruff is fungal.
I usually spot it on a few times before I shower, and then pour 1/2 a cup over my wet scalp in the shower before I shampoo.

i don;t shampoo that often, but after vinegar on the head - you kinda have to

I'm on a long hair forum, and a lot of us use an acidic rinse of some sort to smooth the hair shaft and make it nice and shiny. Most people use ACV because it smells better, but it can *slightly* darken light-colored hair. For those of us that don't want that, we use the same dilution of white vinegar. It does smell, but it goes away once the hair is dry.
If the dandruff is caused by dry scalp, you can apply some coconut oil the night before you wash it. It's a great pre-wash conditioner for the hair, too.
