he came in at 7...complaining how hard work was and how tired he was...played the xbox for a couple of hours (until I told him he was falling asleep) and then says "my brother's coming over wake me up when he gets here"

so...when WAS he going to tell me he was not going to be just visiting with his brother but actually LEAVING with him? Never probably. :

but then I'm just in pain and crabby...this certainly is nothing new

Sorry you're dealing with this! If it's any consolation, my DH is up *maybe* 5 minutes a night (I just make him do the nightly diaper change)... while I'm up from 2am-6am with my little night owl and then I hear him telling people how "exhausted" he is! Ummm, excuse me?!
Have you tried talking to him & laying down some law? Maybe compromise somehow?

I have tried to talk to him...he thinks that I'm trying to control him when I ask him to tell me his plans beforehand. he went with this same brother yesterday and was gone for four hours...he couldn't have come home and said "hey by the way he's coming by tomorrow to finish my running around"?

my dh works nights so he's up all night every night...so when he comes home and doesn't go to bed until 9 or 10 and then gets up at noon to leave...its a very big deal because *I* am the one that has to try to wake him up so he isn't late for work!
