Sahara- it is awesome!

Well- now that I suckered you in here to find no picture- I will share that my sahara is fabulous- although still not done. the fit is like the best fitting sweater ever. And I wanted to wear it tomorrow- boo! The sleeves are taking me forever. Oh well- I am doing it out of elann tweedy silk (really easy to use- but definitely a utilitarian yarn- I think it is flatter than peaches and cream)- but I think I am going to have to shell out the money for some good silk to make a second one.

Anyone else knitting up a sahara- and if so what are you using?

Here's a link for you!

I've looked at the pattern and considered knitting it- I'm glad you're pleased with it!

I made the sleeveless version last summer out of TLC Cotton Plus and it is without a doubt my favorite handknit garment to date. I was really surprised at just how well it turned out in this inexpensive craft store yarn. The neckline was a bit of a tedious PITA, but overall this was a really fun knit with a very cool construction.

Wow, that is a low neckline... Do you wear anything under it?

if you check out ravelry- some have sewn the neck up higher- mine really isn't too low and I sewed it up 3.5". I checked out pugmamas rav account and I think she is doing it too? pugmama? I think cotton would be a great yarn to knit and gift this sweater- cheap, easy to care for, and a great pattern!

RE: the neckline, I sewed mine to a height that I was comfortable with. You can make it as plunging or as high as you are comfortable with.
