Organic Mattresses

DW and I are planning to get a new mattress soon and I would like to get some info on organic mattresses? Does anyone have any recommendations as I start to look? Good ones? Ones to steer clear of....?

I saw that both Sealy and Serta have 100% latex mattresses. I read their descriptions and I like what they have to say but how do you kow which one is better? And why is Latex better than foam? Does foam emit more chemicals? Please share your knowledge ..

dh & i just replaced our tempurpedic with a latex mattress b/c i was so concerned about all of the chemicals in the foam. i thought i would be sacrificing divine comfort for a "healthy" sleeping environment. I was so pleased at how luxurious & comfortable my new mattress is. I love it and have great peace of mind sleeping on it! I have a saavy rest organic latex mattress, it is 3 layers of latex (firm, medium, soft) in a casing of organic cotton stuffed with organic wool. it is so sumptuous! contact michelle at greenmountainorganics.com.... she is really helpful. We've been looking into the latex too. The name is misleading, but the latex is derived from the rubber tree, and not artificial. However, someone warned us that the latex has a strong smell (don't know if its true, let me know if you know), and that if you're sensitive to smells it may bother you.
