Daily thread 2/24...?

Is anyone still here except for me? Did everyone else go into labor yesterday?

Well, if anyone other expecting mamas ARE still here...good morning to you...

I'm 39+2 today. (I probably shoulda joined the March DDC, huh?) Baby's active. Last night we finally tested our La Bassine birth pool, and omigosh I love it. I'm highly sensitive to plastic-y smells so the fact that it's still off-gassing stressed me out...until I got into it. And said, "OHHH, I don't CARE about the smell, this feels GREAT!" I felt so heavy when I got out again...baby seemed to find it interesting too. Afterward for a while there was some serious cervix-diving going on. And over the past few days I've turned into quite the cervical mucus factory - STICKY stuff, but small amounts of it only. But it's really sticky. So maybe that's a gearing-up thing too? Who knows! Otherwise, no real signs of anything happening labor-wise, yet.

We're going to a sling-wearing workshop led by our doula today, & finishing cleaning the living room (HOPEFULLY)...

Lots of ELV's & : to all Feb mamas (with babies in or out!)!!

I'm still here.

Had a few braxton hicks yesterday... and after a week's worth of prodromal hell, I actually feel more normal. With the on/off bouts of wanna-be labor, I was constantly wondering if "this was it" at least with only a BH here and there, I don't have to wonder. So oddly enough, even though I really want Christopher to hurry up and get here, I'm a lot less stressed about it today. I woke up feeling okay about the fact that he's going to come when he comes... I trust him to know when the timing is right.

I think I'm going to ask for a blessing at church today... not necessarily to get things going... but for patience and a healthy, happy end to my pregnancy.

I'm still here too 40+2 Good Morning!

I am looking forward to my midwife appt tomorrow to see what they are saying and to hear my little guy's heartbeat.

I keep seeing Mommas talking about eating pineapple- I have NO idea what that's supposed to do but I will eat a can of chunks in juice everyday if it will help this little guy out and into my arms.

DH and I had a brief moment of being bummed about our due date coming and going but we are both okay now. He is out hauling his lobster/fish pots right now. Oh I can't wait to get home and see the beautiful Caribbean Sea. Nothing that I've seen in this world compares. Hope baby comes soon so I don't have to change my plane ticket and wait even longer to see my husband- I haven't seen him Dec 16 It is so hard to be apart this long.

Only 5 more days left if I am indeed going to have a February baby... No signs of labor that I've noticed- just my regular BH- no extra discharge- no crampiness, nada. My bags are packed and ready. I think it is time to get serious and walk 2 hours today instead of one. I really want to go into labor- well more than anything I want to call my husband and tell him he is a father- that his son has been born!

Wow! That jolted me awake! My dd came almost a week early (which I didn't expect), so I haven't beento prepared to be later this time. Depending on which date I use, I'm either 40+1 or 39+3. Guess I should focus on date #2, huh?
Steph, the birth pool sounds awesome, I'm so jealous.

Shannie, sorrry for all the prodromal exhaustion. Glad you're feeling a little beter. I"m feeling pretty open to waiting, too, or patient I guess.
There's been some personal marraige related drama around here, and I don't mind waiting to try to settle myself again emotionally before giving birth.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Still here at 42 weeks. I posted a whole other thread (42 weeks...) because I hate to tie this daily thread up with all me me me...

Hope the rest of you are doing well!

I'm still here too, believe it or not. Still 42 weeks pregnant. Ctx thoughout the day but decidedly slowed down allowing me some much needed rest. Went with my OBGYN friend to the hospital tonight and the baby is looking healthy and good with good vital signs so I came back home and am looking forward to a restful night.

I have no idea when things will pick up again. I can only hope and pray that when they do it will go all the way to the end.

Hugs to you Teenytoona, we may still be birthing partners.

Our numbers are shrinking, aren't they? Wow I can't believe only 5 days left in the month...that means only 4 more til my due date!! I've never gone early so I don't know why I'm so hopeful this time...I really should have joined March's DDC!! I had high hopes for this time, but so far nada. It is going to be a bit warmer today and tomorrow so maybe I can get some walking in, that might help at least a little.

Rasji: Pineapple is supposed to help ripen your cervix, but it has to be fresh pineapple not canned. The enzyme is destroyed in the canning process.

Steph: I'm glad you like your pool! Keep it inflated so it can keep offgassing. With DS, we didn't blow it up ahead of time and that smell became really strong to me in labor and I couldn't even sit in the pool for more than like 5 minutes.

Good morning everyone. Today is the day. I am 40 weeks today. And funnily enough, around 4am I started having what I assume to be contrax. They are really down low in my front, about every 10 minutes and feel like really strong AF cramps. I need a comfortable position to weather these from. Sitting, lying down, so far nothing gives me any relief. I haven't called the MW yet, cuz sometimes I get some mild nausea and cold sweat with these and I didn't eat protein but once overnight. So I want to try to get some protein, the cal-mag supplement and some RRL tea before she comes to check me. I am sure she will come to check me to ensure my BP is low enough. It should be cuz DP loaded me up with protein continuously yesterday and I am free of stars or lights so far this morning. Even the swelling in my feet has gone down some.

Gotta go before another one of these things come on. I'll try to keep in touch today.

Yay Peace!! That sounds exactly how labor started with my DS, my first. AF-type cramps that came every 2 minutes! (I had a weird labor with him...they were 2 minutes apart the WHOLE labor!) I'm so happy for you!!!

Depending on which dates we use, i am either 40+4 or 37+4...we are trying not to slavishly look at the calendar! Either way, baby #4 will come at the perfect time...we just have to keep trusting that!

Saturday (yesterday) at 3 pm, my DH finished painting the baby's room...finally. As soon as he said it, i had an icky cramps thing going on in lower uterus and lower back. It creeped it's way up and then my uterus was a like a rock! This happened every ten minutes from 3pm until 2am this morning (well, i fell asleep at 2am after some chamomile tea.) when i woke up at 7, i was still sort of having them, (i've given up timing them, i'll know when we in serious birthing mode hopefully!) but the really cool thing is that they do not hurt at all...at least they stop hurting as soon as i start using my Hypnobirthing techniques! I literally have to feel my belly to see if i am still having the tightening feeling! But at any rate, i also has some pinkish show at about 10 pm last night, but no more since then.

We have been using our La Bassine for relaxation for about a week now... i love it!

And yesterday morning we started with the Evening Primrose Oil on the cervix (this really helped me last time i believe) so i can't help but wonder if one single application of EPO in the morning started things going by 3pm??? I have been afraid to do things like nipple stimulation just because i was worried that if we were indeed using the 37+4 date it might be a little early. But if we are having these other signs, i might go ahead and try it now since it seems as if my body has given a "sign" that it might be ready, (And at last weeks mw visit i was measuring at 42.5 cms fundal height even though i've only gained 19 pounds! That sounds like a lot of baby to me!! So i don't think that our little one will be too little for a welcome at this point!)

I didn't know that this thread was here, or else i would have joined you gals a while back! I could have used the support!

41+1 today, feeling relaxed.
Dh starts his weekend and it's nice to have him home. He and ds just left to get doughnuts. This afternoon we'll drop ds off with my sis and go to a movie.

I had some really strong contractions last night while nursing ds to sleep, but then they stopped when I got up. I felt fine with that, really starting to feel less anxious, and want the babe to come when ready.

I will take another nice long walk before the movie.

good luck to those feeling closer!

Still at home for now. Doula is here, checked me this am and I was about 5-6cm. Ctx about 5-6 mins apart since about 4 am. Hopefully will have our little one sometime tonight. I'm in a stall right now, they have spaced out a bit. I'm hoping they pick back up soon.

40 weeks TODAY! Feel like I will still be here a while. Its DH's birthday, so i am trying to focus on that, and NOT that fact that I wanted his son to be born on his dad's b-day.

GOOD LUCK Peace and Jujubie. Watching our numbers shrink is giving me hope!

Gosh you know I think I might be having some contractions...my back aches a little and I keep feeling some downward pressure...I didn't tell DH yet though bc his cousin was just here from out of town and he has to go drive her back to where she is staying (she's about 30 minutes or so away, doing training for work) and I want him to drive safely LOL. It's likely still nothing but it does feel different!

Whooo! Go Amy!! It sounds like a lot of people are gonna start going today...I wonder how many "________ is here!" threads will be posted tomorrow??

Rasji - it must be so difficult to be away from your DH at this time...lots of : for a smooth delivery & an amazingly joyous reunion with him very soon!! Your description of the Caribbean sea...while I'm sitting here in the midst of gray Brooklyn...wow! Lucky baby

Looks like I started losing my mucus plug today. So that's something, huh? Over the past week I've had LOTS of really sticky cervical mucus - but today, a few actual chunks. Not pink or anything though, but distinct blobs. So that felt exciting to see and B-H have started again after a good few days off...not a lot, but there. So looks like my body is slowly preparing. Whee!
