to those dealing with m/s!!! Today was the first day I've felt a wave of nausea, but I hadn't eaten in a while and it went away pretty much as soon as I started eating. I'm 5 weeks 4 days, so I'm waiting for it to catch up to me soon!

Yeah Tara! I'm so glad your spotting went away! Way to go, listening to your body! And those sample pics seem like they'd be really cool pg pics. I want to hire a photographer as well b/c we didn't have any professional pics done at our wedding and I told myself I'd make it up to myself by getting pg pics done!

I haven't even started calling midwives for interviews, I'm just really not feeling a rush to do so. Part of me wants that to make it seem more real, but another doesn't quite want to let anyone else in on my pg yet (even though the whole world knows! Dh has a big mouth! )

Here's to a healthy & happy week for all of us!!

Yep - cool pics on that site, Tara. I had a weekend of light spotting with DS and laid on the couch the whole time praying - it went away and he's a handful now I'm glad yours stopped too.

Beautiful shots - birthdancedoula! I really hope to get some good ones this time. Here is one of my favorite from my pregnancy with DS: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v1...l/IMG_0153.jpg

Jord, I have had strange "twin" like dreams too. It all comes from my grandmothers and mothers trying to divine that I'm going to have them. DH's grandmother and both my paternal and maternal grandmothers had twins and triplets, so they think it will hit my gen. I don't know. I had a dream that I was on Noah's ark protecting two small bunny rabbits in my lap with all my life. Since then, I keep seeing two sets of animals in dreams - 2 snakes, 2 birds, 2 jaguars. Last night I dreamed that a m/w was feeling my belly and my belly had 2 bumps - but they were oddly shaped (like a camel's 2 humps!) I can't wait to find out once and for all so that I can just accept whatever I'm having just as it is.

Ah all you ladies up at 8 weeks already!! I've just gotten to 5 weeks lol!

Glad to hear there are some of you getting through the m/s too - mine is totally evening sickness, which I also had with my boys. The past few days I've felt so incredibly exhausted. Today I had to force myself to work in the kitchen because I knew I had to get the food made but I was so tired.

I feel like the weeks are passing slowly for me, but that's probably because I'm waiting on the early weeks to pass. This week I think will go by quickly. DP and I are getting married tomorrow (Mon) moring I'm calling the local midwife this week, and I'm giong to a local baby wearing group I heard about at the LLL meeting to get to know some of the mamas in the area (since we're new here). So a big week for me. And my birthday is March 1 I hope this means it will go by fast and I'll be 6 weeks pg before I know it.

I've always had so much fun with pregnancy photography. Our room is basically all black-and-whites of photographs of my pregnancies and our babes. Dh loves it but jokingly calls it the "breast and belly shrine". I say: get used to it...you're married to a midwife-in-training!!
LOVE those pics! So very cute. A week before I was going to get maternity pics done, I went into labor. I am hoping this time I will be able to do some really awesome fine art ones with my big ole belly, dh, and ds

AAM: So I had a lousy day. I was just so emotional, crying at everything Chris did and just plain felt like doo. I layed on the couch all day, and couldn't stand the though of eating anything. Sucky day.

Of course, now that it's almost 9 pm, I have a sudden burst of energy and am starving, and there's nothing to eat in the house! Just my luck! I might bake cupcakes just because I feel like it.

I'm 8 weeks along, and on Tuesday I go for my first ultrasound! I'm excited and anxious, and just tired of keeping this a secret. It is really wearing on me that I haven't told anyone, I just want this to be common knowledge. It's crazy how much energy it takes.

We ordered shirts today for my in-laws - Grandma & Grandpa to "bee" shirts from cafepress. Hopefully they come by the end of the week! Our plan is to tell them this weekend. Can't WAIT to see their reaction! I'm much closer to them than to my own mother - who I'll tell 2nd and I don't really know how I'm going to do that yet.

Congrats on getting married Skrimpy!

AAM again: I am so confused by my morning sickness! Today is totally not following the pattern of the previous four days. I fell asleep on the couch and made DH take care of the kids for 2 hours. Then I got up and felt horrible until my wonderful husband cooked dinner. I didn't think I could eat it but I did and I feel tons better now. I will be so glad to be out of the first trimester.

Okay, so seriously, in ONE DAY my pants have gotten too tight and uncomfortable. I'm only in my 5th week and am feeling like I suddenly got a huge fat belly. It's obviously not baby, but where could all this pudge come from in one day?! Shouldn't this happen later with my first? I don't feel like I've been : all the time, but I have been eating regular meals & snacks daily. Seriously, tonight I could pass for second tri!

ETA: Good luck with the u/s Baby_Cakes and with telling family!!

I hope you feel better soon And good luck for the u/s on Tuesday! I am still wondering if my mw will want to do an early one since I am not POSITIVE on my due date...

Big week for you Skrimpy!!! Congrats on your marriage!
Thanks for all the well wishes for my u/s tomorrow! I'm nervous, but it's mostly just being excited. I think seeing him/her on the screen will make it that much more real. I just hope everything looks good!

Skrimpy - congrats on getting married! How exciting!

Amber - My pants stopped fitting right at about 5 weeks too. That's when I went up a size -- even if it is just water/bloating, it's around my hips and belly and nothing seems to want to fit!

It feels really strange being 8w3d. I always thought that when I got to 8 weeks it would be this huge relief, woo hoo feeling - but I'm still wanting the weeks to rush by. I mentioned this to Chris last night, and he said it's probably just b/c I feel so miserable that there's not much to be enjoying right now. How true is that? I mean, am I enjoying much of it at all? I'm trying to, but at the same time, feeling pukey and tired, not fitting in my clothes, sore bbs, it's not exactly the funnest thing right now!

I'm 6 weeks and ms has really kicked in. Mostly just waves of nausea throught the day (ok at night) and occassion tossin' my cookies. I can still deal and I'm not crying yet. I just hope this is as "bad" as it gets.

I did a belly cast with my last baby (38 wks) and plan to do one with this one. I'd like to get professional photos taken too! I never had that done with any of my pg's.

Still haven't told my family yet...but my mom told me my niece (who i am 8yrs old) is pg with her #3, due end of oct!! I almost said something to my mom about me being pg, but i really don't wanna hear it from her just yet. ugh. Oh well.

Hi all, I'm new here. I'll be 7 weeks on Wednesday. Feeling somehow "funny" but no real m/s or other symptoms. This is our first, and we are so excited. I think time is crawling- my 1st appt isn't until 3/17!!!

Skrimpy: Congrats on getting married...how exciting! My dh and I got married when I was newly pg. It was such an exiting time!

Amber:I hear ya on the pants thing. My regular pants stopped fitting at about 5 week, too. It doesn't take much uterine stretching to push our innards up and out, does it? I am always amazed at how quickly it happens with each pregnancy.

mommysaurus:How exciting that you'll have 2 October babes this fall joining your family!

Baby_Cakes:Be sure to update us on how your u/s goes. I hope you get a good look at that precious beating heart!!

DID:My MS is throwing me for a loop, too. Some times I feel fine, other times I feel like crawling in bed and never getting out. There's no pattern to it like with all my other babes. I can eat and feel ok or I can eat and feel horrible. I can also not eat and feel pretty lousy, too. I went over to my bf's house last night (Gunter from your Nov 05 ddc) to eat her new babe's b-day cake. I felt fine the entire time I was there but as soon as I got in the van my nausea kicked in. I had to pull over on the side of the road so I could throw up. Add me to the list of those counting the days til we get to the 2nd trimester!

Hi everyone!

My nausea and fatigue has been pretty bad the last few days. I think I'm about 9wks, and that's when it's usually at it's worst for me. The peak phase typically lasts 2-3 wks for me before it starts to gradually decline. I'm hoping just a few more weeks of this yucky feeling. I feel like such a slug in the evenings, but all I can stand to do is lay around on the couch. My nausea is way worse this pregnancy for some reason.

On a good note, my 1yo dd graduated to sleeping in her own crib. She was getting so squirmy through the night and no one was getting any rest, so we decided to try her in a crib in her own room. She fussed(more like talked herself to sleep) just a little when we first put her to bed, but then she slept the whole night for 12 hrs and has done so great each night since! She was desperately needing more rest than she was getting. She's one who likes to sprawl out and have her space, so I think she was ready for her own bed. I'm so glad it's gone this smoothly, because the middle of the night nausea combined with frequent night nursing was almost more than I could bear. I'm making sure to nurse her more often through the day to make up for the night feedings, and it's going fine.

Tara - So glad to hear that your spotting stopped!

Jörð - Are you sewing some nb dipes? I love obsessing over a nb stash or reading about others.

Skrimpy - Congrats on getting married.

Baby Cakes - I hear you on the laying on the couch and feeling yucky! At least there's AI in the evenings to help pass the time, right? Soon this phase will pass, and we'll all be feeling a lot better. Good luck with your u/s Tues.

DID - It sounds like you've had a really rough go with the m/s this time. Mine is worse this time too for some reason, and I'm with you on just wanting the first trimester to be over.

Amber Lion - My pants are getting snug too. Lovely first trimester bloating.

how wonderful...congrats!!!

My morning sickness is bothering me more so in the fact that there is no pattern to it...though when I do have it it seems to be a bit more in the evening which is good cuz dh is home to watch the boys. Mostly though it just seems to be there one day and then nothing for 2 or 3 days...so of course I start to worry and panic that my symptoms are gone and when your symptoms go this early it's never a good sign. Then the nausea comes back and I am relieved....

pants still fit fine
only 6 weeks and it seems to be creeping by....truly can't wait to be in the second trimester.

I am hoping to get many things done this time around as it will be my last pregnancy....belly cast, photo's and henna would all be great.

I embellished a few prefolds but decided just to dye the rest. I bought 2 dozen of the snugglebottoms fitteds. They're cheap flannel diapers but for the newborn stage, I think they'll work well. Then 2 dozen preemie prefolds and a few random fitteds. I've got a TON of covers. About 4 PUL, a stretchy pull on wool interlock, a bumpy wool and a ton of wool I've knot myself. I'm working a pattern right now- my own actually. I may sell it even. It's the easiest patter I've ever knit.

So onto smalls! I'm having fun building a little stash.

Poking my head in here quickly before DS' nap. I'll be 6 weeks on Friday and so far am feeling very very little m/s. It's almost nothing, but if I eat a normal amount of food for me, I'll start feeling REALLY full and a touch sick.

The last couple days I started gagging while brushing my teeth and I'm still really gassy. I am very emotional which is always strange to me while pg as I'm not normally super emotional during PMS. I cried Saturday morning because DH was being his usual difficult self and wouldn't tell me who had just texted him. BUT. . . he also had not answered my 5 phone calls the night before when I wanted to know what time he'd be home; so mainly I was upset about that still because I never ever call him that much to "bug" him. Okay, I'm obviously still not over that.

I also started crying yesterday while reading The Memory String to my DD.

I've been busy since my BFP trying to make dinners I can double or triple, then freeze because I'm sure my days of being able to cook a decent meal for my family are numbered (if past 2 pg are any indication). I'm hoping it helps.

I'v spoken with my mw via email a few times, but no appointment set yet. She won't see me until about 12 weeks though, so no rush. I'm planning another hb, yay! I think we'll end up doing the 20 week u/s only because it's important to DH to check for anything that might be wrong with the baby. No dating u/s this time as I'm within 1 week on dates and not worried about that. MW was okay with me having a hb at 36 weeks last time (based on my health and size) so I'm sure everything will be okay on that front.

Congrats to the mama getting married!
