Help! vogue crocheted scarves

I'd love to make this scarf for my SIL, but am daunted by the prospect of joining 60+ motifs. I don't love finishing.

As anyone made this scarf? The instructions merely say to "join" the motifs. How?? Sew them? The surface area seems to small to do a slip stitch join.

Ideas please???

TIA!

That's a great scarf! You know, I saw one similar in at book at the library. (Don't know what book, and don't remember a lot about it...) But it involved making a lot of flower motifs... then lay them out randomly in some way that looks good to you... then join them using chains.

Seems very Art-not-Science type of crocheting to me... and I don't know how I would make it work... but it looks like that's how your motifs are joined, as well.

I'd love to know how you make this happen... good luck!
