Which days are best to DTD?

My RE always tells us to DTD the day of my trigger shot, the next day and the next day, so 3 days in a row. I usually ovulate about 36 hours after my shot, so day 3 would be after ovulation, day 2 before ovulation.

We NEVER manage 3 days in a row. So which days are the most important? Days 2 and 3? Days 1 and 3? So far days 1 and 2 have gotten us nowhere (7 cycles now, I think).

I am just throwing my opinion out there: how about days 1 and 3, that way day 1 would get some spermies in there waiting for the egg, and then day 2 your dh could recharge, as it were, and then ................ hmmm, on second thought, how about DTD the day BEFORE the trigger shot so there's some lurking, then day 2 and try for day 3 if you can manage?

I am just going to put out there to try and dtd every couple/few days before the trigger about a week before it. That way you will have fresh sperm and some time in between for counts to go up too.

I have not heard about dtd 3 days in a row. I think that would really lower your dh's sperm count? But I am no expert. I have been told to dtd the night of trigger and then after my iui which is 36 hours after trigger.

But sometimes you get whatever your dh can manage too. So try not to stress about it.
