girl names?

so, my baby is over a week old and doesn't have a name...

i know her name should be linnea but i can't get my husband on board.
we almost settled with mazie but he backed out at the last minute.

now he likes cicely (big no from me) or autumn (i'm okay with it).
it's hard to try out the names i sort of like because i REALLY like linnea.

any suggestions for reaching a compromise??

subliminal messaging for my dh (i'm only sort of joking)?

Have you pulled the, "I carried her, I birthed her, I name her" card?

No advice, but I think Linnea is the beautiful!
Good Luck!
Oh, and I'm sending mental vibes to your hubby.....

Linnea as a middle name, compromise on the first name??? I love Linnea and I think you should at least get to call the middle name since you did birth her and carry her!

Girls names we considered:
Ruby
Rhiannon
Felicity
Aria

I like the middle name compromise idea. I'd also be whispering it in DHs ear every time you're up in the night!

yay he gave in!!

her name is Linnea Sareen!!!

i think he had to hear the name a bunch before it stopped sounding weird.

yeah! so i'm thinking it's pronounced Lynn-E-ah. Am I right? I think it's great!! I like Sareen too! To be honest, I'm disappoined my DS has such a boring name! I love different names!

A girlfriend of mine here just had a gir and named her Noemi no-amy I like that. A german name similar to Linnea is Lena or Anna-Lena.

That's great!!! I was in the same situation with dh and I was thrilled when he finally agreed that we could name the baby Charlotte! I knew that was her name and was worried if we chose something else it would never be right. So happy for you!

i'm such a dork... her name is linnaea

like the botanist that came up with our current system of classification for pretty much everything on our planet. his name was carl linnaeus and the feminine version is linnaea.

it's pronounced lyn-nay-uh. we actually changed the spelling in the hopes that someone someday will pronounce it right. i don't have high hopes but we tried...

our near second choice was mazie. in fact we called her that for a couple of days before my dh vetoed it.
